With the release of the 2026 Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) results, the first graduating cohort of the ISA International Education Group HKDSE Programme achieved outstanding results.  The admission rate to The University of Hong Kong reached 25%, the admission rate to the top three universities in Hong Kong reached 35%, and the admission rate to the eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee reached 60% , significantly exceeding the Hong Kong-wide averages.

Leveraging the diverse pathways available to HKDSE students, graduates of the first cohort also received offers from prestigious universities in  the UK, the US, Australia, Switzerland and other countries and regions . Their overseas offers span a wide range of disciplines, including Computer Science and Philosophy, Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Anthropology, demonstrating their broad academic horizons and diverse possibilities for future development.

HKDSE, the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination , is the academic qualification assessment taken by students in Hong Kong after completing three years of senior secondary education. It is also currently the only senior secondary qualification system in the world in which students can answer in Chinese, except for the English Language examination, while receiving broad international recognition.

The HKDSE curriculum typically follows a  “4 + 2 (or 3)” subject combination , consisting of four core compulsory subjects and two to three elective subjects. Results are graded from Level 1 to 5, with the highest-performing candidates at Level 5 awarded 5* or 5**.

Strictly aligned with the official HKDSE curriculum and assessment requirements , the compulsory subjects include Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, and Citizenship and Social Development. Elective subjects include Mathematics Extended Module M2, Physics and Chemistry, complemented by courses in humanities, technological innovation, project-based learning (PBL), and career planning.

Moving beyond a single-minded focus on examination practice, the programme offers four major areas of enrichment:  humanities, technological innovation, sports and arts, and global perspectives, balancing academic progress with the development of broader talents and interests.

Through project-based learning (PBL) and focused studies in civic literacy, students are encouraged to think and explore independently, developing critical thinking and a sense of social responsibility.  Dedicated career planning, elite academic development, and university preparatory and transition courses further help students adapt to university-level learning in advance and build a coherent pathway to higher education.

Drawing on teaching resources from Hong Kong, the programme establishes a complete teaching cycle of differentiated instruction, focused teaching, targeted practice, and detailed assessment.  Students are taught according to their academic starting points, ensuring classroom efficiency while steadily strengthening subject foundations and improving examination performance.

A closed-loop teaching and research system is also established, comprising weekly collaborative lesson planning, monthly teaching seminars, and quarterly teaching evaluations.  By continuously refining teaching content, optimising lesson design, and aligning teaching standards, the programme ensures that instructional approaches remain closely aligned with HKDSE requirements, making every lesson both professional and targeted.

Leveraging a comprehensive competition development system,  the ISA HKDSE Centre has built an international competition matrix covering seven area s: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, humanities, science and technology innovation, and languages.  By connecting students with internationally recognised competition platforms, the programme helps them develop core strengths beyond examination scores and stand out in university admissions.
