Paul Bawden
Head of School
Paul commenced as Head of School at ISA Science City International School in July 2022. Having worked in the field of international education for more than 35 years, including 15 years at the school principal level, he has led a variety of schools to success. Previously, he served as the Education Director for the Yew Chung Education Foundation. Before that, he also served as Executive Principal at Yew Wah International School Beijing, and Principal of the prestigious Australian International School in Indonesia. His extensive educational and management experiences in different regions including Australia, Thailand, Japan and PNG have afforded him a global perspective and cultural agility. Additionally, Paul gained his master’s degree of Education in Leadership at Queensland University of Technology and Business Administration in Human Resources at Australian Institute of Business.
Lee Sanders
Deputy Head of School
Mr. Lee Sanders brings with him a wealth of experience in leading education as well as a strong commitment to developing the whole child. Lee has served as a teacher and leader for over 20 years having taught in state, selective and private education in the UK, before moving to Shanghai in 2014. He joined YK Pao School and was instrumental in growing the High School programme from scratch. From IB authorization to the first five-year review, the High School has produced students of exceptional quality with world top 10 ranked university admissions from each graduating class. The school was recognized as the number one school in China by Hurun rankings three years out of first four years in which he was there. Lee holds degrees in Science education and an MBA in international education and teaches Physics and TOK when time permits!
Tina Lin
Head of Operations
Tina graduated from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and the University of Leuven in Belgium, with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education.With 20 years of experience in international education, served in a management position at Utahloy International School Guangzhou. She joined ISA in 2013 as the founding Deputy Head of School of ISA Tianhe; in 2018, she became Head of School of the International Program of Beststudy Education Group. Has extensive management experiences at international schools, with an insight into the trends of international education in China. She also has a deep understanding of educational theory and practice, as well as accreditation of courses offered in international schools.Serves as the Operations Director of ISA International Education Group. She will drive better allocation of resources to support development of ISASC.
Dean Cummins
Head of Secondary
Mr Dean Cummins is commencing as Head of Secondary at ISASC in August 2023. He holds a Master of Education degree in Global Learning and has more than 8 years of experience at the Senior Executive Leadership level. He believes that helping young people reach their potential is central to what makes a community strong. Dean has taught across Australia, Europe and the UK and is a passionate educational leader who aims to not only facilitate opportunities for young people to grow but have an impact on their thinking and future pathways. With 20+ years of experience in senior schooling including careers counselling, he can effectively share his knowledge and experience to support all stakeholders alike to flourish as members of our global community. A specialist in Economics, Business, and Individuals and Societies, he holds a passion for quality teaching through applied, authentic contexts that focusses on engaging the individual to reach their potential. He looks forward to sharing and extending his knowledge and experiences, collaborating in a varied and diverse community, and meeting the needs of the ISA Science City International School community.
Louise Mcguire
Primary Principal
Louise brings more than 30 years’ educational experience to the position of Head of Primary at ISA Science City. She has completed a Master of Education in Leadership and Management, a Bachelor of Education, and a Diploma in Teaching. She has been a Head of Primary in two leading Australian private schools, held executive positions for the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia and been a mentor for aspiring school leaders. Louise is steeped in Inquiry Learning, completed IBPYP workshops, and Reggio Emelia training in Italy, and is strongly focused on academic performance, cocurricular endeavours, and the enhancement of student wellbeing. She believes in a balanced curriculum that focuses on the ‘whole child’, helping each unique child to thrive and reach his or her potential. Louise has been involved in developing programs for international students and travelled abroad on numerous occasions to connect with the parents of students involved.
Connie Chan
Early Years Principal
ISA Science City’s Early Years Principal, Connie, is one of its founding members. Having worked in the field of early childhood education for more than 30 years, she is an expert in the field. As well as her native Canada, Connie has worked in international schools in southeast Asia, including Hong Kong and Singapore. Before joining ISASC, Connie spent 14 years working as an Early Years Coordinator at an IB World School in Guangzhou. During her tenure there, she played a key role in the IB accreditation process. Connie graduated with an honours degree in Bachelor of Applied Science in Child Studies, concentrating on Early Childhood Education from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. She is listed in the public registry of the College of Early Childhood Educators in Canada as a certified early childhood educator. To upgrade her skills in the Primary Years Programme, Connie attends IB workshops. A true advocate of Reggio Emelia’s world-renowned approach to early childhood, she believes in holistic development and child-centric philosophies. As a founding principal at ISA Science City, she is always eager to welcome parents to visit our Early Childhood Learning Centre (ECLC).
Rovanna Bawden
Head of Student Support Services
Rovanna comes from Australia and has worked extensively in other big international schools across six countries, most recently at the International School of Macao and the Western Academy of Beijing. She has a Master of Education in Inclusive Education and a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling, and her expertise is in supporting families and students who require individual programming. At ISASC, she will develop the Student Support Team which will grow to include pastrol care, English as an Additional Language, Learning Support and Counselling services for students. She believes that ISASC will be a school where all students can be successful given the right conditions, and with individualized support, all students can reach and even exceed their full potential.
Brayan Munoz
Manager of the Academic Center
Mr. Brayan Munoz holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas, a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Westminster College, and Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University. He also combines twelve years of teaching experience with ten years in school leadership, spanning international and bilingual schools across multiple countries. Before joining ISA, Mr. Munoz served as the Executive Principal of Primary and Secondary School at the Hefei High-Tech Ivy Experimental Academy, where he oversaw the successful establishment of two international schools within the span of just two years. As an IB graduate himself, Mr. Munoz is not just an advocate but a passionate practitioner of the IB curriculum, which has led him to effectively guide schools through various accreditation processes. His expertise lies in creating, aligning, and evaluating school systems to enhance academic programs and improve student outcomes. Mr. Munoz is known for his genuine passion for education and his commitment to students.
Sophia Androu-Erriah
Early Years Curriculum Coordinator
Sophia serves as the Early Years Curriculum Coordinator at ISA Science City. Sophia is originally from London, UK where she obtained her PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). She has worked across 3 continents, as both, an Early Years and Primary teacher, as well as, holding various leadership roles relating to department leadership, curriculum development and staff development in UK state schools, British international schools and bilingual schools. Sophia graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK, where she obtained her Bachelor degree (BSc) in Psychology, later completing her Masters degree (MSc) in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology and worked in the field of psychology before making a career change to the teaching profession. In 2022, Sophia was awarded her National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) by the Department for Education, UK. Her specialisms include, cognitive/emotional/social development in young children, developing curriculums that are accessible and contextually relevant, supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL), as well as, mentoring staff to reach their professional aspirations through a coaching approach. Sophia believes that all children should be given the opportunity to thrive along their own individual path and in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
Annie Chew
Deputy Primary Principal & PYP Coordinator
Annie is the Deputy Primary Principal and PYP coordinator at ISA Science City International School. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design. Her native country is Malaysia and she is fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and several dialects, including Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, and some Russian. Annie is a certified International Baccalaureate Educators (IBEN) school consultant, school visiting team leader, and IB PYP workshop leader. She began her IB PYP journey at Kazakhstan International School, Almaty, Kazakhstan, 15 years ago. In 2011, she became a PYP Coordinator at a bilingual international school in Beijing. To date, she has successfully assisted three international schools, including ISASC, in obtaining IB PYP authorizations.
Debbie Tai
World Languages Coordinator
Debbie is a bilingual educator who is dedicated to international school management, authentic leadership and curriculum development. Debbie joined ISA Science City after serving most recently as the Enhanced Language Program Coordinator at Wesley College in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to this, she served as the Head of PYP Chinese at Discovery College in Hong Kong, as well as the Chairperson of the Primary Chinese Curriculum Committee at ESF (English Schools Foundation, Hong Kong). As a highly respected member of the IB Educator Network (IBEN), Debbie consults internationally as an IB workshop leader for teacher training and curriculum development.
Timothy Noblett
Deputy Principal Secondary – DP Coordinator
Mr Tim Noblett hails from Melbourne, Australia. He has a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts (History and Political Science) from Monash University. He joins ISA Science City as Deputy Principal of Secondary and IBDP Diploma Coordinator. Tim has over a decade of teaching and leadership experience in international education in China, including roles as Head of Secondary and IBDP Coordination. Tim is an experienced educator, particularly teaching exam courses in Geography and History. Tim has a passion for providing students with authentic learning experiences, including outside of the classroom opportunities.
Joseph Hamkari
Deputy Principal of Secondary & Teaching and Learning Coordinator
Joseph is the Deputy Principal of Secondary and Teaching and Learning Coordinator at ISASC. He has been an educator all over the world for over 35 years and in that time has been a teacher of Biology and Science, Science department faculty chair and Head of Department, Curriculum Coordinator, Diploma Coordinator, MYP Coordinator, IGCSE Coordinator and Secondary Principal. He is focused on students learning and facilitating the best teaching possible. He believes in the power of the students and teachers voices and choices and enabling all students to be skilled and skilful learners. The IB with its focus on students and skills fits very well into his aims. He has worked with teachers from many schools and parts of the world both in schools he has worked in and others as a workshop leader for both MYP and DP and has developed a number of teacher courses for the IB and other organisations as well as being a senior examiner in Biology for IAs, Scripts and Extended Essays. As a lifelong learner Joe has recently completed an MEd and is moving back to China from Weimar in Germany where he was the Upper School Principal.
Luke Walker
SY Deputy Principal - Pastoral & Academic Advisor
Luke has worked in China for 5 year’s and has been teaching for 12. After graduating from Exeter University in the UK with a degree in sports science, he then trained in the UK to become a PE teacher. He started his educational career in South London and after 4 years moved into a management role in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He arrived in China in 2017 to continue in his previous role as a Director of Sport close by in Shenzhen, where his classes received the best IGCSE and A-level results in China for 3 years running. Luke is currently studying to complete his MA in educational leadership and believes that we should all try to be curious thinkers with a growth mindset, able to adapt to the world around us.
Katie Cummins
MYP Coordinator & Science Teacher
Ms. Katie Cummins is a British Australian Dual citizen, originating from Nottingham in the UK. After achieving a Master of Science degree in the Biological Sciences field in the UK, Katie travelled to Australia to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Melbourne, and has for the past 18 years, dedicated herself to supporting her students to fulfill their potential. As a teacher of the Sciences, specialising in both Biology and Psychology at senior level, she has taught in the various programmes of the IB for the last 14 years. She has maintained various leadership roles across that time including Head of Sciences and has for the last 5 years held the role MYP Coordinator and Personal Project coordinator, guiding many students through the Middle Years Programme and school through its in depth IB Evaluation. She holds strong relationships within the IB organisation and continues to be sought out by the IB directly, to contribute to the direction and development of the Middle Years Framework.
Stephen Cobb
Head of Boarding
Mr. Cobb serves as the Head of Boarding at ISA Science City International School. He brings more than 25 years of exceptional leadership and teaching experience to ISASC. He has served on the Senior Leadership Team as Head of Boarding at Dulwich College & International High School Suzhou and as the Founding Head of Boarding at Harrow International School Beijing. He also has held leadership positions as Head of Department in Economic and Business Studies at The British School Warsaw and at Harrow International School Beijing. He also has held leadership positions as Head of Department in Economic and Business Studies at The British School Warsaw and at Harrow International School Beijing. Prior to becoming an educator, Mr. Cobb worked in the business industry in Management and as an Investment Banker and Financial Analyst. He has an MBA in International Finance and Economics and a Master’s degree in Education. He has taught Economics and Business Studies at both A Level and in IB Programs. Mr. Cobb has a passion for Model United Nations (MUN), Theatre, and Soccer.
Jerry Lou
Deputy Head of Boarding
Jerry has been providing excellent boarding care to students for over 10 years and plays an important role in their pastoral care. Prior to joining ISASC, she held key positions as a Science Teacher, Chinese Curriculum Manager and Assistant House Mistress at Wycombe Abbey International School (Changzhou). She strives to understand students’ situation in all areas of study and life at school, formulate personalized management plans, optimize student management, and promote the concept of holistic education in schools. By taking on the primary responsibility to provide boarding pupils (all ages/all years) with an exceptional level of pastoral care, she actively contributes to ensuring that the school provides a well-rounded educational experience. Jerry has taught Chemistry and General Science across the full range of international curricula for over 10 years. At ISASC, she teaches MYP General Science and DP Chemistry. With her guidance and tutelage, pupils are motivated and inspired, achieving high results as a result. Also, with the cultural differences and identity as well as the inclusivity of education, Jerry gained experience merging Chinese and International Curriculum for the best practice.
Sean Maj
Sport Coordinator
Sean is the school’s founding Sport Coordinator, bringing to the school a very strong understanding of sport in Guangzhou, the Greater Bay Area, and internationally. He graduated from McGill University of Montreal, Canada, with a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and English Literature, and played American football. He has served as an Athletic Director, teacher, coach of football, basketball, and volleyball, as well as one of the founding members of ACAMIS. Sean joins us from our partner school, ISA Tianhe. Prior to this, he was Director of Sport at another international school in Guangzhou. Sean is passionate about sport and helping students to pursue their dreams of excellence both on and off the playing field, which are key elements of the four pillars of sport at ISA Science City.
Coco Chen
Activities Coordinator
Coco is an enthusiastic experiential educator, a facilitator of community and social-emotional learning, and a student leadership coach. She has been working in education innovation and international education since 2014, leading experiential and social-emotional learning programs in China and Southeast Asia. Among the programs offered are adventure expeditions, nature and culture explorations, leadership workshops, Global Citizenship conferences, and social innovation projects. Coco is also passionate about promoting education equality. Her work in China, Thailand, and Nepal has been focused on empowering under-resourced youths to make a change in their local communities. Coco has conducted many Social Emotional Learning & Experiential Education Workshops for international educators in addition to serving as an educational consultant and trainer.
Vivi Qin
Marketing & Event Director
Vivi has nearly 10 years of experience in the international education industry and is currently the Marketing & Event Director at ISA Science City International School, as well as working in the Marketing and Communications Department of ISA International Education Group (ISAIEG) and the Marketing and Admissions Department of ISA Tianhe International School. Vivi has studied and worked in China and abroad, having studied in Sweden and obtained a Master's degree. She has a wide range of education-related qualifications, including IB certificates (PYP, MYP and DP), and the Chinese National High School Teacher's Certificate. Passionate about children and education, Vivi joined ISA in 2014 and has been involved in the creation and growth of a number of ISA schools, as well as making many efforts and contributions to the building and growth of the ISAIEG brand market. In the future, Vivi will continue to be motivated by her passion for international education and lifelong learning to enhance her professionalism and support the families in the ISA community and the establishment of the ISA international education ecosystem.
Susannah Xie
Finance Manager
Susannah is the Finance Manager at ISA Science City International School. She holds a bachelor's degree of Jinan University with the title of Senior Accountant and the certificate of Senior International Financial Manager. She has many years of experience in financial management in the education industry and has participated in the preparatory work of many different types of schools, including the establishment of financial models for educational projects, investment calculation and analysis of educational projects, etc. She has successfully applied for price permit licenses issued to the Price Center of the Price Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission for many different schools. Susannah believes in excellent financial management, which requires good budget management and fund management, and provides high-quality financial services for the development of school teaching activities.
Tracy Cui
Admissions Manager
Tracy Cui is the Admissions Manager at ISA Science City International School. For the past five years she has worked in international education. Tracy served as the Marketing Assistant Manager for the school and was involved with marketing and project development within the ISA International Education Group before she took on this role in 2020. Before joining ISA, Tracy worked for the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong in a marketing and communications role, and as a result, has developed advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people of all levels. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Business English. She is also a PMP (Project Management Professional) certified by the US-based Project Management Institute. Tracy assists parents with the admissions process, ensuring a positive, straightforward and engaging experience, ensuring high-quality communication, and gaining a full understanding of each family’s needs and interests throughout the ‘Parent Experience Journey’. Tracy believes that establishing positive and trusting relationships between schools and families plays an essential role in a student’s development during school.
Phoebe Zou
HR Manager
Phoebe has been working in international education for 10 years. Prior to working in international education, she worked for four years in the accounting and human resource departments of an ASUS company in Australia. She holds a Master of Accounting degree and is also a certified Australian CPA. Phoebe believes that people are the biggest assets of the school and she is striving towards providing the best HR services to achieve the school’s vision and mission.
Simon Tan
Head of Information Technology
Simon has been working in international schools for almost 13 years. Prior to joining ISA Science City, he worked for BASIS International School Guangzhou as the IT founder. His work in the school sector has included smart campus operations planning and implementation, construction of school networks, management of student information systems, and integration of electronic teaching. Simon holds a Master’s degree from South China University of Technology and is a PMP (Project Management Professional) certified by the Project Management Institute. His view is that the best international education is the perfect fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.

Anne Liew
Homeroom Teacher
Anne joins ISA Science City as an EY Homeroom Teacher. She graduated from Warwick University (UK) with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) and a Leadership Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. Her experience as a teacher and leader spans more than 16 years with the IB World Schools in Singapore and China. After teaching for eight years, she switched careers to go into the financial sector. Travels to Northern Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions for business and pleasure provided opportunities to visit local preschools to study the impact of the physical and social environment on children. After five years, she returned to education as a consultant to several start-up companies in Singapore and Northeast Asia. During her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and sailing. Anne is constantly seeking to enhance her professional and personal growth by learning new skills.
Cindy Ali
Homeroom Teacher
Cindy is an EY3 teacher at ISA Science City International School. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, with a specialization in ESOL (English Speakers of other Languages) and the teaching of gifted children from Nova Southeastern University, USA. Prior to teaching at ISA, Cindy taught at Léman International School in Chengdu, The International School of Macau and the Canadian International School of Phnom Penh. She also taught English as a second language for 12 years in the USA. She has primarily worked with lower primary and early years students and is very experienced in the field of second language learning. In the past, she has been an English Language Learners Coordinator where she supported students and teachers. Cindy is passionate about teaching through inquiry-based learning and is trained in PYP and the Reggio Emilia Approach. She believes that children’s interests should be used to inspire planning and create a personalized approach to learning. Cindy makes it a priority to assist children in becoming confident and self-motivated learners through play, discovery and guided techniques. She wants to make sure her students are happy, independent learners and can access an inspiring learning environment.
Ellen Davies

Ellen has a Bachelor of Arts, Education (Hons) with qualified teacher status (QTS). She has nearly 10 years’ teaching experience in a range of culturally diverse schools in the UK and China. She is an experienced teacher specialising in teaching Early Years, Foundation Stage and Year 1 children.
Felipe Giraldo
Homeroom Teacher
Felipe was born in Colombia and speaks Spanish, English, and Russian fluently. As a child, he was exposed to a wide variety of cultures, which he believes is useful when working abroad. As a teacher, he strives to provide engaging, fun, and inclusive lessons that motivate students. In addition to art, music, drama, dance, and storytelling, he believes these help children find personal meaning at school. In 2005, Felipe earned his master’s degree in Psychology from Saint-Petersburg State University and then pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Nottingham after discovering his passion for teaching. He has been teaching for fifteen years. He has six years’ experience teaching primary-aged children and nine years’ experience working as an early childhood educator. Besides China, he has worked in South Korea, Colombia, England, and Thailand. He loves living and traveling in China, and spends his free time with his wife and two dogs. He is also an avid reader, particularly of classic novels. His hobbies include videogames, riding bikes, and swimming.
Hannah Low
Music Teacher
Hannah joins ISASC as an early years and primary music teacher. She holds a bachelor's degree in Music Performing Arts from the University of Malaya, ABRSM certifications in music theory and piano, and a master's degree from Beijing Normal University. She is passionate about teaching music and piano and has been doing so for several years in Malaysia and China. She believes that music training in the child development years, not only contributes to their fine-tuned auditory skills but helps develop their language and reasoning skills. Her multicultural upbringing makes her lessons creative and interesting, and she likes to bring art and cultural elements into them. She wants to help increase students' coordination and give them a sense of achievement and her biggest joy is seeing the students achieve their full potential.
Marcus Tan
Music Teacher (Early Years & Primary)
Marcus Tan joins ISASC as early years and primary music teacher. He is a versatile music teacher with 4 years of experience delivering music education in the areas of Cambridge primary and secondary music at international schools in Malaysia. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music from Tunghai University in Taiwan. As the recipient of an exchange program grant, he studied music and theatre production at North Park University, United States. Marcus is a professional flautist and chamber musician. He has performed in Malaysia, Singapore, the United States and Taiwan area. For him, there is really nothing better than seeing his students eager to learn. Besides music, he is a traveller and licensed scuba diver.
Michelle He
EY Chinese Teacher
Michelle joined ISA Science City in August 2021 and teaches Chinese in the lower grades of PYP. Prior to joining ISASC, she worked as an Early Years Chinese Co-teacher in the international schools for five years. As part of Michelle's commitment to lifelong learning, she frequently participates in professional development seminars inside and outside the school to continuously improve her skills. She studied Chinese as a foreign language at Comillas University in Madrid, Spain and earned a Master's degree. Michelle hopes to provide children with a warm, caring, and inspiring environment to help them reach their full potential in learning Chinese and become lifelong learners. She is passionate about teaching Chinese. For Michelle, learning Chinese goes beyond acquiring a language. More importantly, she believes that students can also use this language tool to learn more about Chinese culture and other aspects and use Chinese to support the inquiry learning.
Raewyn Tattersall
Homeroom Teacher
Raewyn joined ISA Science City’s founding team as an Early Years Homeroom Teacher. She is originally from Auckland, New Zealand, and has lived in Brisbane, Queensland. As an educator, she spent many years teaching early childhood in New Zealand, Australia, and Beijing. She also taught primary school in Australia and Myanmar for ten years. Raewyn is an experienced early childhood teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from New Zealand. Having observed how students work with joy, wonder, and enthusiasm in early childhood environments, she has chosen to teach in this setting. Through a mix of intentional teaching, inquiry-based learning, hands-on, open-ended, engaging activities, in an environment designed to motivate children to discover, explore, and learn, she hopes to encourage children to become confident, capable learners. As Raewyn believes, to develop and learn, children must build respectful, reciprocal, and trustworthy relationships. In addition to teaching, she hopes to immerse herself in Chinese culture in Guangzhou.
Sarah Lois Yong

Sarah graduated from Monash University, Australia, having received a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education in 2018 and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies in 2015. She also completed teacher training in Early Childhood Care and Education – Teaching, in SEED Institute, Singapore. The first 8 years of her teaching journey was spent in Singapore; in the classrooms of infants from 4 months through to 6 year-olds, providing routine care and developing lesson plans for a holistic learning environment. In the recent 2 years, Sarah ventured out to Suzhou, Jiangsu, China, expanding her professional growth in an IBPYP bilingual school. She joined the Early Years Team at ISA International Science City as Homeroom Teacher, in hopes to add joy and laughter to the community in Guangzhou. Sarah believes that a flexible and teachable spirit is advantageous for growing alongside her students and fellow educators. In addition to providing a nurturing and trusting environment, Sarah seeks to continually engage children’s learning through participation as global citizens, learning creatively in the pursuit of excellence.
Vivian Lou
Homeroom Teacher
Vivian joined the Early Years team at ISA Science City as an Early Years Homeroom teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies, specializing in understanding diversity in Early Childhood Education from Walden University (U.S.), as well as a Master’s degree in Media, Culture and Society from University of East Anglia (U.K.). Vivian has lived and studied abroad in the UK for several years. She has been working with children from the ages of two to six years for over 10 years. Vivian’s IBPYP teaching journey began in 2013 and she has worked in three IB world schools with English as the primary language of instruction. As an experienced Early Years educator, Vivian believes in holistic learning for young learners of all abilities, and that teachers are facilitator to inspire, develop and strengthen the interests of the student. As a mother of twins, Vivian understands the challenges that come with parenting, working and developing a multi-cultural perspective. In her pastime, she enjoys completing puzzles and spending time with her family.
Coco Li
Teaching Assistant
Coco is an early year teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. She graduated from Guangzhou University with a BA degree in English. Becoming a teacher has always been her dream job. She has worked at an International School as an early year teaching assistant for three years in Guangzhou before joining ISA Science City International School. She loves children so much that she likes to working with children. While working with children, not only allowed her to resurrect her creativity and bring out her inner child but also an interaction she can take enjoyment and comfort from. She is passionate about interacting, communicating, and building relationship with children. From her work experience, she knows how to help children learn and develop. Play is the pedagogy of early childhood; it is through play that children are able to make sense of their world and develop the skills and dispositions they require throughout their life. Her aim is to find the most appropriate way to support children’s learning and development using a play-based method.
Coyee Lu
Teaching Assistant
Coyee works as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. While pursuing her education in English Major at college, Coyee also taught herself Korean because of her interest in language learning. With the idea of lifelong learning, she never stops learning even after graduation. She has earned Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test Certificate and has begun her study journey of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language course at Arizona State University. Coyee is passionate about being at work with students and establishes good rapport with them that enable them to build a sense of confidence and grow as unique individuals. She believes that her positive attitude, enthusiasm, and over three years of working experience in other IB school will make her an excellent helper to inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Dysis works as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. She became an English teacher in a public school after she got the BA degree. During that time, she was awarded the certificate of secondary school English Teacher II. She has worked as a teaching assistant in an International School in Guangzhou for 5 years. One year in primary and four years in early years, which makes her a lot of experiences to play with kids and support them. She likes to work with them. The innocence of children always inspires her enthusiasm for teaching. She always wants to be a risk-taker and lifelong learner, so she has learned Japanese and has got the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1. In order to improve the English and enrich English knowledge, she keeps going to learn and has obtained the Cambridge Business English certificate Level 2. She believes every kid is a special individual, with the help of teachers and everyone, they will grow into towering trees.
Lanny Chen
Teaching Assistant
Lanny is a founding member of ISA Science City who joined the team as a Teaching Assistant for Early Years. She has been working in early childhood education since 2013. While working in a Guangxi Province nursery school, she discovered her love for children. Six years ago, Lanny graduated with the National Certificate of Nursery Governess. During the same period, she passed the Test of Proficiency for Korean level 1-2. The first job Lanny had was working in a Korean preschool in Guangzhou for a year. During her time there, Lanny assisted Korean teachers with daily teaching, and she was a crucial link between families and the school. Lanny also worked as a kindergarten assistant at ISA Tianhe. During her time at the school, she assisted the teachers by providing support to Korean students throughout Early Years. She is currently studying Chinese Language and Literature at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies to improve her knowledge in this field.
Lily Zeng
Music Teaching Assistant
Lily works as a music teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. She has a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of York (UK), and BA in musicology from South China Agricultural University. In 2016, she holds the qualification of music teaching in high school. Lily loves working with children of different ages and helping them to find what they want to do. As a teacher, she believes that the core of teaching is to help students to develop the ability of independent thinking.

Lynn joins ISA Science City as a Teaching Assistant for Early Years. She graduated from Southern Medical University and got her Bachelor’s Degree in June, 2007. After her graduation, she has experience at working for a local hospital, an international clinic, an international school and a children’s day-care center. She found her passion at spending time with children inside the classroom and seeing them making progress day after day when she worked for the international school over 8 years, so she took the teaching exam and got the kindergarten teacher certification. She also got the baby nursing certification and psychological junior training certification for better involved in the teaching career. She believes every child is unique and worth a gentle treat in the world.
Thea Tan
Teaching Assistant
Thea joined the ISA Science City team as a teaching assistant for early years. While in this position, she supports the homeroom teacher and serves as a positive role model for four- and five-year-old students. Thea recently graduated from a preschool education programme and is completing her studies to become a preschool international education teacher. In the past, she worked as a Teaching Assistant in an English education institution in Guangzhou and in an international kindergarten in Foshan. She is exploring Korean lessons to support the Korean families at our school.

Wendy joined the ISA Science City Team as a teaching assistant for early years. Wendy graduated from Sichuan International Studies University with a bachelor degree in English. She passed the Test for English Majors-brand 8 and earned an English teacher certification. She has been working in education since 2013. she began her career as an English teacher in an education institution in Foshan and then worked as a Teaching Assistant in Walt Disney English for nearly three years . Before Joining ISA Science City , she worked as a homeroom teacher in an international kindergarten of Bright Scholar Education. With her working experience, she knows how to develop good relationship with children. She loves children so much that she wants to stay with children. She wants to assist children’s mental and physical health, inspire their potential and help them grow as unique individuals. Wendy looks forward to setting a good example for children and fulfilling her own personal growth in ISA Science City .
Louise Mcguire
Primary Principal
Louise brings more than 30 years’ educational experience to the position of Head of Primary at ISA Science City. She has completed a Master of Education in Leadership and Management, a Bachelor of Education, and a Diploma in Teaching. She has been a Head of Primary in two leading Australian private schools, held executive positions for the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia and been a mentor for aspiring school leaders. Louise is steeped in Inquiry Learning, completed IBPYP workshops, and Reggio Emelia training in Italy, and is strongly focused on academic performance, cocurricular endeavours, and the enhancement of student wellbeing. She believes in a balanced curriculum that focuses on the ‘whole child’, helping each unique child to thrive and reach his or her potential. Louise has been involved in developing programs for international students and travelled abroad on numerous occasions to connect with the parents of students involved.
Annie Chew
Deputy Primary Principal & PYP Coordinator
Annie is the Deputy Primary Principal and PYP coordinator at ISA Science City International School. She holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design. Her native country is Malaysia and she is fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and several dialects, including Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, and some Russian. Annie is a certified International Baccalaureate Educators (IBEN) school consultant, school visiting team leader, and IB PYP workshop leader. She began her IB PYP journey at Kazakhstan International School, Almaty, Kazakhstan, 15 years ago. In 2011, she became a PYP Coordinator at a bilingual international school in Beijing. To date, she has successfully assisted three international schools, including ISASC, in obtaining IB PYP authorizations.
Andrew Davidson
Homeroom Teacher
Andrew graduated from University College, London in 2000 and after working in finance for several years decided to retrain as a teacher, completing his Post Graduate Degree in Education from Middlesex University, London in 2010. He has been a primary years homeroom teacher ever since and has worked at some of London’s most prestigious private schools, including Hampstead Hill School and City of London School for Girls. He started his International Baccalaureate journey five years ago, when he joined the Primary Years team of an IB school in Kunming. Andrew has completed many IB training courses and workshops and strongly believes in the strength of the IB’s holistic approach to education. Andrew has a particular passion for promoting reading in the classroom, agreeing with Barack Obama’s words that “Reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible”. In his free time Andrew particularly enjoys travelling to different cities and provinces in China in order to explore and appreciate this hugely diverse and ancient country.

Angelica teaches grade 1 at ISA Science City. She studied in Singapore and achieved her teaching qualification in Beijing after graduating from Jiaotong University in Xi’an. Her passion for teaching and desire to explore new and interesting places led Angelica to pursue a career in international education. She has taught in Asia for over 15 years. During these years, she has taught English as an additional language and served as a homeroom teacher to students from primary to secondary school. Having taught at Korea International School in Seoul for two years, she moved to Thailand to teach at The British International School in Phuket and at Saint Andrews International School in Bangkok for six years. Her next professional experience was at the British International School of Guangzhou followed by four years at ISA Tianhe.

Ben is excited to be joining the Primary team at ISA Science City as a homeroom teacher. He graduated with an Education degree in 2005 from Oregon State University, and has been teaching abroad ever since. His journey has taken him to Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, China and Canada, with experience teaching K-8 students in public, private and international school settings. He has experience with three different national/provincial curriculums, the IPC, various EAL programs, and is looking forward to adding PYP to his repertoire. Ben’s teaching philosophy revolves around showing students that learning is fun and can last a lifetime. Getting to know them and being an example of a lifelong learner being key in this endeavor, as well as collaborating with grade teams to prepare rich learning experiences
Bonny Brahmi
Homeroom Teacher
Bonny graduated from the University of Johsburg with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Major in English. She has been a primary teacher for eight years and has taught both public and private schools in China and South Korea. Bonny has previously has experience using the IPC program and is excited to be joining a successful International Baccalaureate school. She also has leadership experience after recently working as the Lower Primary Coordinator for her previous school. Bonny is a strong believer in holistic teaching. She has a true passion for helping young learners progress in all areas of their development. Bonny strives to make her classroom into a nurturing, fun environment where students will feel confident to challenge themselves and learn how to help others. Her lessons are hands-on and student-centred: the children should be leading and facilitating their own learning. Coming from the ‘Rainbow Nation’ of South Africa, Bonny is excited to add to a diverse, forward-thinking campus. A compatriot of hers, Desmond Tutu, inspired Bonny when he said, “Do your little bit of good where you are; its those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” She hopes that she can inspire her students with the same ethos.

Hein joins ISA Science City as Primary Homeroom Teacher. He holds PGCE and PGCEi from Nottingham University, as well as a Registered Teacher qualification from South Africa, and is about to receive a Master's Degree in educational leadership and management from Buckingham University. Hein began his teaching career in a public school in Thailand, and after a year there, he moved to China to continue teaching at a public school in Tianjin, and joined an International School in 2018, where he has been on an international education journey ever since. In his most recent school, he gained experience teaching the IPC program and served as the IPC coordinator. He is excited to work in a school that uses the IB program. Hein prides himself on being able to connect to his students on a personal level and take care of their emotional and personal well-being. He is a fun, energetic and levelheaded teacher that maximized learning time with well structured, interactive lessons.

Primary Homeroom Teacher Jasmine has enjoyed a long a varied career in teaching. She studied for a BA Hons, PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in London. She has been a teacher for over nineteen years in the UK, the UAE and China. Before joining ISASC, she worked at Yew Wah International School in Beijing for four years, teaching a variety of grades from 2-5. She also held the post of Primary English Coordinator at Yew Wah Beijing, a role which enabled her to mentor teachers who were new to primary teaching. Jasmine has been undergoing continual professional development throughout her teaching career. One of her main passions is to motivate students to become independent life-long learners and creative and analytical thinkers. Jasmine aims to foster an environment in which all students thrive and develop a love of learning.

Kyle is a Primary Years Homeroom Teacher at ISA Science City International School. This will be his eighth year teaching. Before ISA, he taught in America and China, with his last position teaching at an International school in Wuxi. Kyle graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. He has collaborated with other educators all across the world continually sharing ideas about teaching and learning and taking his wealth of knowledge to form best teaching practices to meet the academic and social emotional needs of his students. He is passionate about building resilient learning communities based on academic rigor and mutual respect, knowing that learners can always achieve more in a team. He greatly values the importance of stories and how they can connect us all together and inspire us to become better people. He is excited about being a member of the ISA family and cultivate a culture of excellence. He is passionate about self-improvement and encourages all students to set goals to improve.
Melissa Miles

Melissa (Mel) is thrilled to be joining the team at ISA Science City as a Primary Years Homeroom teacher. Mel was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand where she obtained a Bachelor of Education with Honours. Her teaching journey over the past seventeen years has taken her to Bahrain, Chengdu, Indonesia and back to New Zealand, teaching all primary levels. Equity, honesty and inclusivity are values Mel strongly believes in and having a sense of belonging is at the core of her teaching philosophy. Mel has an inquiry based approach to teaching whereby she places a strong emphasis on evoking curiosity and encouraging ownership of learning. With a particular passion for literacy, Mel uses quotes, books and picture prompts to inspire and enhance learning concepts. Mel is looking forward to being back in China to catch up with old friends, make new connections, and to get to know new students in a job she loves.
Nicci Muir

Teaching for over 20 years in New Zealand and China, Nicci has taught in IB schools in Beijing and Guangzhou and brings her knowledge of inquiry learning from New Zealand’s education system. Nicci has worked in a variety of schools and grade levels but enjoys the bustle and energy of the lower primary classes of primary school the most. Some things Nicci loves about teaching are being able to see students develop their curiosity and knowledge for the world they live in, and the feeling of accomplishment seeing students grow in their knowledge, confidence, and skills as global citizens.
Priscilla De Beer

Priscilla joins ISA Science City School as a Primary Homeroom Teacher. She is a PGCE certified teacher and a registered teacher in South Africa. Priscilla graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree in photography, prior to her graduation, she built and managed her own photography studio where she specialized in wedding and fashion photography and videography. After graduating she left South Africa to teach in a Thai public school for a year before moving to China, where she taught for three years in a public school in Tianjin. After this period, she entered International Education. She has been working in international schools since 2020. She has experience using the IPC program and is looking forward to joining a school that successfully uses the IB program. Priscilla is a strong supporter of holistic education and places emphasis on students' emotional support and development. She strives to make her classroom a welcoming, fun, and interactive learning environment where all students can feel like they are being taught at their own level. Priscilla prides herself on being able to identify and teach each student's strengths to assist them to reach their potential.
Spomenka Dakovic

Spomenka is a founding member of the ISA Science City team, where she teaches ELA lesson in the primary years now. Spomenka holds a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and a Master of Education in Leadership and Administration from Australian universities. Her teaching experience includes primary and secondary schools in Australia, Europe, and China, namely Xi’an and Suzhou. As a result of her experience working with students, she has learned the importance of differentiation and inclusion. She sees her role as a facilitator of learning and well-being as creating an environment that values students and facilitates inquiry. Spomenka has a wealth of teaching experience, but she is most interested in the IB Primary Programme and has guided students in organising the IB PYP results exhibition.
Timothy Duncan

Timothy brings a wealth of training and 25 years of teaching experience with him to ISA Science City. With degrees in Special Education and Education Administration, he possesses a solid understanding of pedagogy and an excitement for collaboration. He has a solid understanding of pedagogy developed from teaching every grade level of homeroom in the elementary. With years of special education experience, he is adept at helping students with learning challenges succeed. Having taught in the United States, Indonesia, Qatar, and China, he fully embraces the “citizen of the world” concept that PYP promotes. He is passionate about teaching writing because each voice is unique. In his free time, he enjoys walking, golf, reading, and cooking.
Alex Lv
Chinese Language Teacher
Alex joins ISA Science City with more than 20 years experience in Chinese language teaching. Alex worked at an international school in Hangzhou, Zhejiang as the head teacher and leader of the language preparation team before joining ISA Science City. Prior to that, she served as a Chinese teacher and HSK examiner at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, George Washington Elementary School and other schools in the United States, Myanmar, and Cambodia as a government-sponsored teacher. She has developed and maintained good relationships with the schools, colleagues, and parents she has worked for in the past. Alex is a teacher who is willing to devote love to the growth of children. She loves every child she teaches and has been loved by students since she began teaching. Among Alex’s qualifications are Chinese, English, bilingual, and cross-cultural coursework. Her undergraduate and master’s degrees are both in Chinese International Education, and she holds the China International Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate and the Tennessee Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate. She is also actively involved in the IB teacher training program and has extensive experience teaching and organizing cultural activities at the elementary, middle and university levels.
Aisha Perez
Visual Arts Teacher
Aisha is a Visual Arts Specialist with over 11 years of experience in education. A personal passion of hers is “Total Learning”, an approach to teaching that focuses on the whole child. She believes that each child is capable of expressing their creativity through art in a way that is unique to them. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Her undergraduate degrees include those in Art Education, Studio Art, and Fashion Design & Merchandising. Additionally, she is a certified teacher of ESOL, Gifted and Talented, Special Needs, and Art Therapy. Aisha has a fashion design background and is proud of her accomplishments in the industry, which include working as a fashion consultant for “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard, competing on television shows including “Project Runway” and having her own clothing line. As an art educator in the United States, Aisha was nominated for a “Teacher of the Year” award by her district and chosen as an exceptional teacher by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She served as the Head of Specialist Department and Lead Art Teacher at Abu Dhabi schools before becoming the Art Curriculum Coordinator for the PYP and IB programs in China.
Catcher Deng
Chinese Language Teacher
Catcher has taught in international schools for more than eight years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Sichuan International Studies University. Likewise, she also earned IB related certificates, a teaching certificate, a Mandarin certificate, a PM reading teaching certificate, an Apple teacher certificate, and a child protection course certificate. She guided students to excel in various competitions including calligraphy, essay writing, and internal class competitions. Moreover, she excels at inquiry-based teaching, participated in the IB International Certification interview sessions, and contributed to developing the school’s Chinese language curriculum framework.
Debika Chattopadhyay
PSPE Teacher
Debika has over 17 years of experience teaching PE at the PYP and MYP level, coordinating after-school activities, and leading classes. She has coached volleyball, badminton, soccer, kickball, cross country, and cricket in different international schools and assisted teams to win championships. Debika is also a certified ACC level-I cricket coach with Cricket Australia. Her master’s degree in Health & Physical Education was earned from one of India’s most prestigious schools of physical education (LNUPE). Currently she is pursuing her international teaching license from the USA. Throughout her life, she has always wanted to associate healthy living with fun and physical activities. Debika has developed her passion for PE through working with children and teaching them lifelong sport skills.
Ivan Dragic
PSPE Teacher
Ivan joined ISA Science City as a PSPE teacher. A graduate of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Belgrade, Serbia, he specialized in strength and conditioning. He taught Physical Education at the Affiliated Foreign Language School of South China Normal University for the last 3 years. In addition to promoting the importance of decision making and goal setting as life skills, he will educate students on the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind through positive behavior. He believes in equipping kids with practical, lifelong health skills, which cross over subject matter to develop character. His philosophy of education is that every child is unique and needs an educational environment where they can grow physically, socially, mentally, and emotionally. He strives to create an environment in which students can reach their full potential.
Millie Wang
Chinese Language Teacher
Millie graduated from Moreland University, completed Teacher Preparation Certificate program and earned her master’s degree in Education. She has more than 10 years’ experience in the field of language teaching. She also obtained both English and Chinese Teacher certificate. She approaches education with passion, paying meticulous attention to details. She has participated in a variety of trainings and is currently studying for a IB PYP Teacher Certificate program from University of Windsor in Canada. She began working at ISA Tianhe in 2017, joined ISA Science City International school in 2020. She believes education is the most powerful weapon which can change the world and is willing to explore together with students in ISA Science city.
Sue Zhang
Chinese Language Teacher
Sue Zhang has experience in teaching IB curriculum and CNC (Chinese Nation Curriculum).Now she work as a Chinese teacher in ISA. She volunteered to work as a Chinese teacher in Cambodia during the internship. And selected by China National Office for Teaching Chinese of Foreign Language, she taught Chinese in Thailand. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai university and she is working on her Master’s degree at People’s University. Sue Zhang believes that a positive approach towards learning is important. She focus on creating the most engaging environment where students “learning through playing”. She loves to inquiry into language learning with students.
Wincy Li
Chinese Language Teacher
Wincy teaches Chinese at ISA Science City International School. Her teaching career began in Singapore. After that, she worked as a Chinese teacher and Chinese subject level representative in Thailand for three years. In addition to her BA in Chinese Language and Literature and MA in Chinese teaching, she received her National Qualification Certificate for Primary Chinese Teacher and Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. She is passionate about learning new teaching methods and pedagogies, including using ICT-assisted Chinese teaching to engage students in class. Wincy places emphasis on inquiry, exploration, and critical thinking when teaching. She encourages students to embrace challenges, persevere, develop their potential, adopt a growth-mindset, and become lifelong learners. Moreover, she recognizes that teachers are not only "guides" to the learning process of a student, but also "promoters" and "supporters", forming a "teacher-student community", thereby fostering a mutually inclusive atmosphere.

Aimee is a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School, working in Grade 2. She graduated from Shaoguan University with a BA degree in Education. During her college years, she immersed herself in the education sector in various roles; a voluntary teacher, teaching assistant, and tutor. She has worked in the education industry for more than two years, mainly teaching Early and Primary Years students English. Aimee is passionate about teaching. She feels a sense of fulfillment with working in education. She enjoys spending time with students, seeing them progress and enjoys sharing moments of surprise with them. Every child is unique; each has talent. At ISA Science City, Aimee is excited about discovering and nurturing students’ talents. Aimee believes life-long learning is essential to happiness. Echo Wen
ELA Teaching Assistant
Echo works as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. After working as a teaching assistant in another international school in Guangzhou for four years, Echo graduated from Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Languages and Arts with a major in English Education. Working with students is one of her favorite things; she is enthusiastic about education and enthusiastic about learning new things. Erin is an energetic, caring and responsible Teaching Assistant. After graduating from college, she chose to pursue her passion in education. For the past three years, Erin has devoted herself to English teaching, mainly teaching Early and Primary Years students English, and providing tutoring services for Korean students who study in international schools. Her teaching philosophy is to let children be more confident and happier in learning English. Erin is also a “child” and she enjoys getting along with children and often becomes their good friend. Harper is a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School, working in Grade 3. She acquired a Master’s degree at the University Of York in the UK, with a major in TESOL (Teaching English to the speaker of other language). Her educational and overseas study has provided academic support for her career. Harper prioritises relationships; students, families and colleagues. She is passionate about working in the education sector and is committed to international curriculum development. Harper has previously worked as an English teacher for K12 students and was nominated as “Star Teacher of the Year” during the annual regional teaching quality assessment in Guangzhou from the educational institution. Moreover, she has provided peer-evaluation and been appointed by the academic manager as the in-center coordinator for some activities. Harper is enthusiastically cooperates with the homeroom teacher and gives children the best educational experiences possible. Ivy is a primary school teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School.
She has got the National Teacher Certificate and Business English Certificate.
During her college years, she joined volunteer activities inside and outside the campus and was responsible for volunteer association. The public welfare projects that she and her team planned and organized for children and community gained funding from government. Those valuable experiences offered her opportunities to get along with different kinds of kids. She is awarded the title of three-star Volunteer of Guangdong Province. She has been an English teacher for more than three years, mainly teaching kids from three to twelve years old. She enjoys the time being with kids, and is keen on observing the subtle changes in their growths. Ivy always shows her enthusiasm, respect, patience and curiosity to the kids. In her spare time, she spends time reading books about educational psychology, applying the theoretical knowledge to her actual teaching. Joe is ISA Science City’s ELA assistant. He holds a BA in English, a TEM band-8 certificate in English, and national teaching certificates in high school and primary school English. Before he came to ISASC, he worked at an IB school for more than three years and a well-known English academy for one year, in which he earned a good understanding of how to support students, teachers, and lessons. The precious experience also encourages him to choose the path of English teaching. As a lifelong learner, he never stops seeking opportunities to improve himself: he is currently taking an online course for TESOL. He believes that every student has potential and can achieve success through goal setting and proper guidance. He is passionate about encouraging students to find joy in reading, from which they can improve language ability, learn new things and take in new ideas. Joe also serves as a boarding staff, providing pastoral care for boarding students.

Jenny works as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School. She has ten years of experience in education. Before joining ISA Science City, she had worked as a primary teaching assistant in ISA Tianhe for more than 6 years. She also had language teaching experience in Thailand and some other bilingual schools in Guangzhou. Her experience in education helps her understand the characteristics of students of different ages and give them appropriate support. She enjoys spending time with her students and believes it is the best way to get to know them and give them appropriate support. She had the IB courses training, ACAMIS training and is currently studying for a Master's degree in Languages and Literature. She has a strong affinity and team spirit.

Karen is a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School, working in the World Languages team. She holds a BA in Elementary Education and Language Acquisition. Her experience includes language training and teaching English as an Additional Language for both Government and International Schools. Karen is an educator who believes in the importance of instilling a strong growth mindset in students in order to empower them to take charge of their own learning. She is also passionate about reading and libraries, as demonstrated by her love of reading. Karen specializes in the acquisition of reading comprehension skills. As well as understanding the challenges of diverse classroom learning environments, Karen is committed to improving her students’ academic abilities as well as empowering them to be confident and authentic learners in both academics and everyday life at school. Lisa joins ISA Science city as an early years and primary teaching assistant for Visual Arts. She graduated from RMIT university with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art). She is excels and enjoys experimenting at oil painting, digital painting and creative arts. During her college years, she found a strong interest in assisting children with their education by working as part-time teaching assistants and a tutor. Her teaching philosophy is to let children learn through fun and have fun while learning too, she also believes that with encouragement all students can strive to perform at their best.

Lok is a Physical Education Teacher Assistant at ISA Science City. He acquired a master’s degree at The Education University of Hong Kong, majoring in social sciences in sports coaching and managements. He is a certified social sports instructor, specializing in swimming, and has four years of experience as a swimming instructor. He has also worked for the SF&OC (Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China) and is committed to promoting the Olympic spirit. His teaching philosophy focuses on developing students' independence and autonomy. Inspiring students to take exercise as a hobby and motivates them to exercise. Respecting each student as an individual, he matches the most suitable sports programs according to individual physical qualities, to help students develop their personality and all-round development into a sunnier version of themselves.

Shadow is a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School, working in Grade 5. She assists the Homeroom Teacher in 5B. Before joining ISA Science City, she attained a BA of English at Hunan International Economic University. Shadow has spent time working at Changsha where she supported students in their studies. She believes that love and warmth are important in order to bond with children so that they can experience the joy of learning. Shadow treats her students with the same respect as her family and hopes they can feel at home in ISA Science City. “Life is happy, study is happy, too.” This is the most important thing that she wants the students to learn. In her free time, Shadow enjoys writing and dancing. She looks forward to be given the opportunity to spread Chinese culture to the world. Shadow is proud of her handwriting and calligraphy abilities, a skill she has developed since she was a child and has improved through years of practice and determination. Shadow sees dancing as a way for her to connect with the world. She has learnt Ballet, Latin, Modern, and even Yoga, all of which helped her understand different ways of thinking and understanding the world around her. Tess acquired a bachelor's degree in English. She passed TEM 8 and had senior high school teaching certificate. Before joining ISA Science City, she had two years of experience as a teaching assistant in ISA Tianhe. She enjoys learning with students, cares about every student, and witnessing their growth is the most enjoyable things in education. Working at ISA, she has gradually deepened her understanding of the IB curriculum and opened her international mind. Mr Dean Cummins is commencing as Head of Secondary at ISASC in August 2023. He holds a Master of Education degree in Global Learning and has more than 8 years of experience at the Senior Executive Leadership level. He believes that helping young people reach their potential is central to what makes a community strong. Dean has taught across Australia, Europe and the UK and is a passionate educational leader who aims to not only facilitate opportunities for young people to grow but have an impact on their thinking and future pathways. With 20+ years of experience in senior schooling including careers counselling, he can effectively share his knowledge and experience to support all stakeholders alike to flourish as members of our global community. A specialist in Economics, Business, and Individuals and Societies, he holds a passion for quality teaching through applied, authentic contexts that focusses on engaging the individual to reach their potential. He looks forward to sharing and extending his knowledge and experiences, collaborating in a varied and diverse community, and meeting the needs of the ISA Science City International School community.
Timothy Noblett
Deputy Principal Secondary – DP Coordinator
Mr Tim Noblett hails from Melbourne, Australia. He has a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts (History and Political Science) from Monash University. He joins ISA Science City as Deputy Principal of Secondary and IBDP Diploma Coordinator. Tim has over a decade of teaching and leadership experience in international education in China, including roles as Head of Secondary and IBDP Coordination. Tim is an experienced educator, particularly teaching exam courses in Geography and History. Tim has a passion for providing students with authentic learning experiences, including outside of the classroom opportunities.
Joseph Hamkari
Deputy Principal of Secondary & Teaching and Learning Coordinator
Joseph is the Deputy Principal of Secondary and MYP Coordinator at ISASC. He has been an educator all over the world for over 35 years and in that time has been a teacher of Biology and Science, Science department faculty chair and Head of Department, Curriculum Coordinator, Diploma Coordinator, MYP Coordinator, IGCSE Coordinator and Secondary Principal. He is focused on students learning and facilitating the best teaching possible. He believes in the power of the students and teachers voices and choices and enabling all students to be skilled and skilful learners. The IB with its focus on students and skills fits very well into his aims. He has worked with teachers from many schools and parts of the world both in schools he has worked in and others as a workshop leader for both MYP and DP and has developed a number of teacher courses for the IB and other organisations as well as being a senior examiner in Biology for IAs, Scripts and Extended Essays. As a lifelong learner Joe has recently completed an MEd and is moving back to China from Weimar in Germany where he was the Upper School Principal.
Katie Cummins
MYP Coordinator & Science Teacher
Ms. Katie Cummins is a British Australian Dual citizen, originating from Nottingham in the UK. After achieving a Master of Science degree in the Biological Sciences field in the UK, Katie travelled to Australia to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Melbourne, and has for the past 18 years, dedicated herself to supporting her students to fulfill their potential. As a teacher of the Sciences, specialising in both Biology and Psychology at senior level, she has taught in the various programmes of the IB for the last 14 years. She has maintained various leadership roles across that time including Head of Sciences and has for the last 5 years held the role MYP Coordinator and Personal Project coordinator, guiding many students through the Middle Years Programme and school through its in depth IB Evaluation. She holds strong relationships within the IB organisation and continues to be sought out by the IB directly, to contribute to the direction and development of the Middle Years Framework.
Luke Walker
SY Deputy Principal – Pastoral & PE Teacher
Luke has worked in China for 5 year’s and has been teaching for 12. After graduating from Exeter University in the UK with a degree in sports science, he then trained in the UK to become a PE teacher. He started his educational career in South London and after 4 years moved into a management role in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He arrived in China in 2017 to continue in his previous role as a Director of Sport close by in Shenzhen, where his classes received the best IGCSE and A-level results in China for 3 years running. Luke is currently studying to complete his MA in educational leadership and believes that we should all try to be curious thinkers with a growth mindset, able to adapt to the world around us.
Andrew Macdonald
University Guidance Counsellor
Andrew is the University Guidance Counsellor and IBDP Language and Literature teacher and a member of the boarding House team at ISASC. He has been an educator all over the world for 30 years. In that time, he has been a teacher of English Language and Literature for IGCSE, IBDP & A Level, Senior Resident House Tutor, Director of Guidance, Head of University Guidance and Associate Vice Principal for Higher Education and Careers Counseling. In sport, Andrew has extensive experience teaching and coaching cricket and rugby. In the past, he has also worked as a Boarding House Resident House Tutor in a number of schools, helping school boarders to gain a high level of academic guidance. In addition to his career in education, Andrew received an officer commission in the Royal Air Force as a Flight Lieutenant and ran two large RAF Cadet Sections in the UK, at Lancaster Royal Grammar School and St Columba’s College in St Albans, an independent day school for boys. Andrew looks forward to collaborating with Faculty and supporting our diversely talented student body.
Allen Lee
English Teacher
Allen Lee is Chinese-Canadian teacher with a degree in English and Cultural Studies from McMaster University. He has a decade of experience in both Canadian and International curricula. He is currently the IBDP Language and Literature instructor at ISA Science City. Over the years, Allen's teaching career has presented him with continuous opportunities to simultaneously learn and teach. He believes that "the only constant in life is change", dedicated to bringing relevant and accessible content into the classroom. He strives to create a learning space that has content variety and student autonomy. In his personal time Allen enjoys reading, cycling, and taking care of four cats.
Alvin Chen
Chinese Language Teacher
A Chinese native, Alvin was born in the northeast of the country. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy and is fluent in Mandarin, Thai, and English. Alvin has been teaching Chinese for 7 years, 3 of them in Thailand. He was recognized by the Han Ban and Confucius Institutes as being an excellent Chinese teacher and a member of an excellent management team. For the past four years, he has been teaching IB Chinese Language and Literature in Guangzhou. Alvin has participated in IB workshops and conferences on Chinese teaching and learning to constantly improve his skills.
Arshad Hussain
Science Teacher
ISA Science City welcomed Arshad as an IBDP (Physical Sciences) Teacher in 2021. His academic and professional qualifications were earned at world-renowned universities like the University of Toronto, the University of California, and Harvard University. Over the past 27 years, he has taught a wide range of courses such as IB, A-levels, and AP in several foreign schools in China such as Nanjing Foreign Language School, BASIS International Shenzhen, Beijing Royal School, among others. Arshad encourages his students to engage in scientific practices, including asking questions, gathering and analyzing data, and presenting arguments. Through practical applications, he brings abstract concepts of the physical sciences to life. Arshad believes that students look up to teachers and may model their own behavior and work ethic after the teachers. Due to this driving force, Arshad is completing his Master in STEM degree at California University of Pennsylvania.
Catherine Zou
Chinese Language Teacher
Catherine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching Chinese as an additional language at Southwest University in Chongqing, China, and she completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Framingham State University, USA. Having taught at Yew Chung International School of Chongqing since 2008, Catherine has over a decade of experience teaching Chinese to additional language learners across a range of ages, language levels and cultural backgrounds. In this time, she has grown and developed her practice and gained expertise delivering varied curricula including IBDP Chinese B HL and SL, IBDP Chinese Mandarin ab initio, IGCSE Chinese Foreign Language as well school-based adapted curriculum which feed into these external programs at both Lower Secondary and Primary school levels. In addition to her established strengths in the classroom, Catherine has taken the opportunity to challenge herself through a series of leadership positions including Primary Chinese as an Additional Language Lead Teacher, and most recently as IBDP CAS Coordinator and Service-Learning Leader at her schools.
Craig Swift
Science Teacher
Soon after graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Degree with Honours), Craig came to China where he has been teaching science for 6 years, having developed extensive knowledge and experience in AP, IGCSE and A Level Chemistry and Biology. Craig obtained his International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCEi) from the University of Nottingham during his time, elevating him in being recognised as an outstanding teacher at his previous school. He has also coached students in academic competitions such as the British Biology Olympiad and HOSA, helping several students achieve high-level awards.
Dani Marais
Drama Teacher
Dani is the founding Arts Coordinator for ISA Science City. She is also a drama teacher. The South African native has a Bachelor’s degree in Drama and English from Rhodes University. She completed her teaching degree at the University of Nottingham.She has worked for the South African Schools Festivals of English, Drama, and the Arts since graduating from university, as well as an acting skills lab for disadvantaged communities. Additionally, she collaborated with a number of community organizations and organized events such as WordFest: a celebration of books and the Centre for Social Development’s first annual conference. During her free time, she created a number of shows which premiered at the Grahamstown National Festival, one of which toured South Africa and ended at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, UK. In the role of Arts Coordinator, she hopes to help build – a programme that will stimulate talent and create community through a wide-range of art programmes for students of all abilities and interests.
Daniel Sousa
Business and Economics Teacher
Daniel is from Hong Kong, China. He has graduated from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom (UK) where he majored in Business Studies. He also attended the Beijing Cultural and Language University in Beijing China where he completed a one-year Chinese Language Course. He completed his teacher training at the Institute of Education (IOE) at the University College of London (UCL) obtaining his Postgraduate of Education (PGCE) in Business Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Daniel has been teaching Business and Economics for 3 years. He has taught GCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels and International A-Levels in the UK and Hong Kong, China. Daniel also has 4 years of professional working experience at two leading accounting firms in Hong Kong, China serving clients in Singapore, China, Macau, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Daniel believes in the development of the whole-child using a holistic approach to education. Daniel brings his previous industry experience of the business world to his students. Daniel is also a Committee Member for a Portuguese Charity which is aimed at supporting underprivileged and elderly members of the Portuguese Community in Hong Kong. In his free time, he enjoys yoga, weightlifting, cooking and traveling.
David Phillips
PE Teacher
David holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc Hons) in Sports Science, a PGCE in Physical Education and his NPQSL Senior Leadership qualification from the UK as well as his Masters (M.S.Ed) in Educational Technology from the US. He has been a PE Teacher for 27 years of which 23 of these have been in International Schools in countries ranging from UK, China, Italy, Qatar, Vietnam, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. He has taught a range of national and international curriculums including the British National Curriculum and IGCSE, IB MYP and IB DP, the Cambridge International Curriculum and IPC and IMYC. David believes in a philosophy of “The Joy of Sport for All”; where we can inspire the best from our students, irrespective of their skill or experience and that we can develop students that have a lifelong passion for physical activity. David has held the positions of Director of Sport, Head of PE, ECA Coordinator and CAS Coordinator in leading international schools. David competed in Field Hockey to County level, played Football and Swimming to club standard and holds national coaching qualifications in a wide variety of sports.
Deepak Tyagi

Deepak has been working in international schools for almost 18 years. Prior to joining ISA Science City, he worked for Vanke Meisha Academy Shenzhen as MYP Design Technology and Computer Science teacher with additional Role of STEAM Department Chair and IB DP coordinator. Before moving to South China, he worked with Beijing No4 High School, Beijing BISS International School and Beijing Daystar Academy. His areas of expertise include setting up STEAM spaces, Robotics (FRC & DJI), and Programming modules for Middle school and High school. Deepak holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science, M.Ed. from University of People USA and an Advance diploma in Software Engineering from APTECH USA. He is fluent in mandarin and enjoys his life in China.

Ellen holds a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University. Born and raised in northern China Shandong Province, she is blessed with a cultural heritage of Chen and Yang Style Tachi. She used to work in a US College Board Dual Immersion program in Arizona, teaching Chinese, Math and Science in primary. During her 5 years of involvement in IBMYP Program, She has served as an EAL teacher, subject head and assistant MYPC. Ellen is a dedicated and passionate IB educator aiming to help her students to achieve their goals.
Emrys Ma
Chinese Language Teacher
Emrys Ma has been working in the education field since graduating, and has taught Chinese as a foreign language abroad for one year and worked in international schools for nearly four years. With a comprehensive understanding of international education, he is familiar with many advanced teaching methods and concepts, such as project-based learning, universal design for learning, and TPRS. Having worked in international schools, he has developed a thorough understanding of the characteristics of students of all ages, and he makes students his center of attention in his teaching, adapting his methods to meet the needs of the individual student. With his solid professional qualifications, he creates a learning environment that is conducive to student exploration and learning, and he can help students better understand Chinese culture and language. In addition, he maintains a lifelong learning attitude. Throughout his career, he has participated in IB trainings and other related trainings, continually improving his teaching skills.
Georgina Richardson
Visual Arts Teacher
Georgina has over 17 years teaching experience in GCSE/A Level Art and Design. Georgina is expert in providing students a broad and individual education in Art ranging from painting, drawing, 3D works, ceramics, creative textiles, printmaking and mixed media work. Previously worked as the Head of Art & Design in both boarding school and state funded school in UK. She also served as a form tutor overseeing UCAS applications, apprenticeships and future career plans. Georgina obtained her bachelor’s degree from Loughborough University (ranked 5th in the UK for Art and Design), and a PGCE in Art and Design from the University of Brighton.
Humera Jozi
Math Teacher
Dr. Jozi has been teaching science and math for over 13 years at different international schools across China and Canada. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Processing Engineering. From her work during university to when she first started teaching, Dr.Jozi has experienced the true breadth of education by teaching students of all ages. The ISA values of one team, one dream, are very important to her and she values creating an environment that offers her students and colleagues alike opportunities for exchange of diverse perspectives in an atmosphere of compassion and respect. As a compassionate and caring educator, Dr. Jozi aspires for all students to be successful learners and strives to create an environment that stimulates, encourages, and adapts to the different needs of every student. As the mother of two adult children, she appreciates and understands the challenges faced by students. She is passionate about experiential learning and is experienced with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Jody Urbas (Master of Music, Southern Oregon University) is excited to join ISA as a Drama Teacher in the upcoming school year. Jody brings over 23 years of teaching experience to ISA including 7 years at international schools in China and Vietnam. In addition to her experience teaching drama, Jody has served in administrative, student life, and school support leadership roles including Head of Department, Registrar, Dean of Students, and Technology Coach. As a lifelong learner, Jody continues to pursue further education, most recently completing the University of Toronto’s Certificate in International Education for International Baccalaureate. Jody is passionate about supporting students as autonomous learners in pursuit of maximizing their creative and academic potential.
Juan Jose Zuniga Soto
Visual Arts Teacher
Juan is a Costa Rican designer and artist living in China for 8 years. He is passionate about creativity and aesthetics. He has taught art, coached students, and managed a team of 3 to 17-year-olds for 4 years. Juan holds a Postgraduate Degree in Graphic Design and Artistic Education from the Hispano-American University. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including art, fashion, and design, on five continents. It is his vision to create an environment where self-expression and individuality are encouraged without boundaries or restrictions, resulting in a deep appreciation of details and anything that reflects a person’s personality. His work has been featured in both lifestyle and art magazines and he has collaborated on unique pieces and projects for many brands, including Coca Cola, Bank of America, and Vogue Magazine. In addition to teaching and coaching, Juan is also a mentor.

Ken is originally from Hong Kong but for the last 5 years before joining ISA Science City, he worked in BASIS International School, Hangzhou. He believes that Design is a both practical and versatile subject and sees a lot of opportunities linking to daily lives and other subjects. He personally enjoys the subject and he obtained his bachelor in education degree from the Hong Kong Education University, in which he studied Design and Technology, Science and Art. He has been teaching STEAM subjects for more than 17 years across different year levels. Kyle earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 2020 from the University of Michigan, with majors in biology, chemistry, and history. His studies focused on the MYP and DP Programmes, and he taught at Huron High School in the United States after completing his teacher training. Upon finishing his degree, Kyle worked at ISF Academy, one of the top IB schools in Hong Kong, as a Science and Mathematics Teaching Fellow, where he focused on improving the school’s MYP program. Kyle is an innovative young teacher who infuses his classroom with fresh perspectives on learning and teaching.
Kyoung Ae Kim
Korean Teacher
Kim hails from South Korea. She began teaching Korean in 1999. As a Korean public-school teacher, she passed the National Public Teacher Recruitment Examination in 1999. She received the First Grade Certificate in Korean Language teaching in 2003. For the last four years, she taught Korean at ISA Tianhe. Kim teaches Korean as a mother tongue and supports the Korean community. During her career, she has helped Korean students who wish to return to Korea to study to gain entrance into top Koran universities.
Luke Fisher
Individuals and Societies Teacher
Luke has nineteen years experience in the classroom. He holds a Bachelor of Education (History/English) from Queensland University of Technology. Following time teaching in Australia he moved to the United Kingdom where he spent 11 years. He is in his sixth year of teaching in China. During his time in education, he has served as Head of Department, Head of Year and Assistant Head, as well as coaching many sports teams and leading domestic and international trips. As an educator he has experience with IB, British National Curriculum, IGCSE, A-Level and Australian Curriculum. He believes that the key to success in the classroom comes down to building positive relationships built on trust and that getting out of the classroom allows students to develop essential life skills.
Mandy Xiao

Mandy received her master’s degree in Foreign Language Education from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey with Chinese and ESL certificates. She has worked as a Chinese teacher and co-advisor at Montclair Kimberley Academy in NJ, the United States for more than four years, where she instructed her students in participating and earning the second and the third prizes in the Chinese Bridge Speech Contest for American Students held by Han Ban and Confucius Institute. Before joining ISA Science City, Mandy taught high school English at Guangzhou New Oriental School and was recognized as the “Most Welcomed Teacher”in the English department. In addition to her passion for teaching languages, Mandy has extensive experience teaching students with diverse ethnicities and backgrounds and applying educational technology to teaching. She believes in teaching in accordance with students’ aptitude and helps each of them to achieve their fullest potential to learn.
Marcela Villa
Visual Arts Teacher
Marcela is originally from Cali, Colombia, where she studied Fine Arts and began her career as an artist and an art educator. While living in the United Kingdom, she gained a qualification as an art teacher and together with her husband began raising a family. Her husband and she have worked in different countries in Asia and Europe for the last 13 years. She previously worked in Xian in 2015. In addition to working in different countries, she has taught A-Levels, GCSE, IGCSE, MYP, and DP Visual Arts in the UK, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Japan, and Germany. Marcela believes that art enables students to develop skills that can be transferred to other subjects such as critical thinking, analytical skills, and communication skills, in addition to developing values so that they can understand empathy, be principled, and be flexible. Skills and values like these are crucial for a better future.
Matthew Liu
Mathematics Teacher
Matthew holds a master’s degree in International Education specialising in International Baccalaureate from the University of Melbourne and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in Education (Mathematics) from the prestigious National Institute of Education of Singapore. He has taught Mathematics at all levels in various educational institutions in Singapore, Thailand and China (Beijing). He has conducted workshops in Singapore Math and Science for parents and teachers during his teaching career in Beijing and Thailand. Matthew is an experienced, passionate and dedicated educator, with a heart for his students. He believes in encouraging students to adopt a growth mindset, a continuous reflective nature and be resilient when facing challenges in learning or in life. During his more than 20 years of learning and teaching with students, he has served as a Vice-Principal, various Head of Department positions, Mathematics teacher as well as an Examination coordinator and a Co-Curricular Activities coordinator.

With more than 16 years of professional experience as a school-based counsellor, Meg offered professional college counselling services for more than five hundred students as the first school counselor in a local reputable U.S. curriculum high school. She successfully guided students to be accepted by the world's top colleges, including the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, Princeton University, Yale University, Columbia University, the University of Chicago, Cambridge, and Oxford. She is an IACA-certified Advanced Career Advisor, a certified school counselor in 2011 by the College Board, and achieved an International College Advising Certificate awarded by the University of Pennsylvania. She is entitled an Outstanding Educator by the University of Chicago, 2018-2020.
Michael Allen
Music Teacher
Michael is the founding secondary music teacher at ISA Science City. He hails from Chicago, USA, and has worked as a music educator in several countries including the U.S., Haiti, the Philippines, and China. Michael holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA. He is a professional cellist and an active chamber musician. As a cellist, Michael’s path led to Orchestral Conducting and Strings Instrument Education. Hefei was Michael’s first China education experience and Shanghai was his last. He has had the honor of working with musicians such as Lyle Lovett, Antonio Brico, Claudio Abbado and Harvey Shapiro.
Michael Collins
Mathematics Teacher
Michael studied Economics, Business, and Accounting at Brunel University in the United Kingdom after attending Dover Grammar School for Boys. Michael worked for 10 years in London and the Middle East in sales and customer relations, with a focus on the banking and finance industry. He was a member of the founding team for two firms in the Middle East. In 2008, he decided to rethink his career path and retrained as a Mathematics teacher in 2012. He worked in both private and state schools in the United Kingdom for five years. Michael’s second teaching job included responsibilities both as a mathematics teacher and as a boarding and housemaster, as well as coaching various sports. It was here that he developed a keen understanding of the advantages of a holistic approach to education. Michael left the UK in 2018 to begin his first overseas teaching position at the Bali Island School where he taught IB Mathematics.
Moony Feng
Chinese Language Teacher
Moony earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Beijing Normal University, and she completed her Master’s Degree at City University of Hong Kong. Moony taught in universities for four years before starting her career in international education. In 2016, the Chinese government sent her to Sydney, Australia, as an expatriate teacher. For two years, Moony taught Chinese in a local government high school in Sydney. She returned to China in 2018. Since then, she has worked at three different international schools in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Now Moony teaches Chinese language and literature at ISASC’s Secondary School, as well as Chinese language acquisition. Besides Mandarin and Cantonese, she is also fluent in English.

Neera has been working in China with international schools for the last 18 years. She is from India, and she earned her Postgraduate Certificate Education (International) (PGCEi) from University of Nottingham, UK, in 2017. During her years of teaching career, she has taught Mathematics, worked as IB Mathematics examiner and the Grade Level Leader. Over the past 18 years, she has taught a wide range of courses such as MYP, IB DP, A-levels, and AP in several internationalschools in China including Beijing Huijia (IB) private school, Renda Fu Zhong-Beijing (The High school affiliated to Renmin University of China), and Vanke Meisha Bilingual School (Shenzhen). Rachel Luo joins ISA Science City as a University Guidance Counsellor, familiar with various main international curricula not limited to IB. She obtained her Master’s degree from Durham University (UK). Rachel worked as a school counsellor in a local reputable international high school, guiding hundreds of students to be accepted by top universities from various regions, including Oxford University, University of Cambridge, Northwestern University, Carnegie Mellon University, The University of Hong Kong, University of Toronto, etc. Rachel is especially good at utilising data analysis to give students more accurate and constructive advice. She equally treats each student with an open mind and is committed to providing personalised guidance according to student characteristics, helping students find the best-fit universities by guiding them to self-recognize and self-explore.
Radha Samikannu
English Teacher
Radha has more than 10 years of teaching experience in Singapore and Indonesia. She focuses on developing both academic and social-emotional aspects of her students as her teaching philosophy is to teach the ‘whole’ child. Her main strength is curriculum planning where she is merges pedagogy with character development. With diplomas in primary and secondary teaching; and a degree in secondary teaching, Radha started her career in primary where she taught English, mathematics and social studies. She eventually specialised in teaching iGCSE and IBDP English. In addition to her teaching, Radha was the Head of Department of Student Development in Indonesia.
Rimma Fatkhutdinova

Rimma is a ELA Teacher and a founding member. Having spent most of her life teaching, she has a great passion for the profession. Her view of students is that they are individuals with unique personalities and learning styles. Those values, along with patience and integrity in the classroom, continue to guide her today. She has taught in various countries and institutions since 1996. She holds a Bachelor ’s and Master ’s degree in education and is pursuing a second master’s degree in education (TESOL) at the University of North Dakota, USA. Born in Russia, she taught in Turkey before moving to China with her family. She has taught kindergarten and primary classes at an IB school. Her experiences have enabled her to learn Turkish and Mandarin, which she now speaks along with English, Russian, and Tatar. She has two children aged 10 and 16. Rimma is constantly inspired by her students’ positive energy, and she looks forward to watching them grow academically and personally.

Rosario is originally from Italy, he holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), a First Class Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (honours) from the Conservatoire of Music “L. D’Annunzio” Pescara (Italy), a Master Degree equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education in Beijing. Rosario holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in three countries: the UK, Ireland, and Italy. Before joining ISA Science City International School Rosario taught in Ireland, in the UK and in China where he also worked as Head of Performing Arts. He has more than 16 years of teaching experience and he has organized a range of music events and activities including orchestras, brass bands, pop and rock bands, school choirs, and musicals. Prior to moving into education roles, Rosario worked as a professional trumpet player at the San Carlo’s Opera house in Naples (Italy) which is the world’s oldest uninterruptedly functioning opera house. He worked with several orchestras touring Europe and Asia, including Malaysia with Luciano Pavarotti, and the Italian International Orchestra in Thailand, China and Japan. Rosario worked three years with Nicola Piovani who was an Oscar Prize winner in 1999 for the soundtrack of the movie “Life is beautiful”. In his free time Rosario enjoys cooking, soccer, running, yoga, and watching Moto Grand Prix.
Ross Nendick
Innovation Centre Coordinator&Design and Technology Teacher
Ross holds a PGCE in Computer Science from Leeds Trinity University and a BA in Economics from the University of Leeds. In total, he has over ten years of teaching experience, having taught in England, Suzhou, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou. Previously, Ross taught MYP Design, PYP Y5 Homeroom and Maths at ISA Tianhe for two years. As an educator, he has extensive experience in a wide range of programmes and subject areas, such as: MYP, PYP, iGCSE, A-Level, and Canadian Nova Scotia.
Ruth Seo
Learning and Korean Support Teacher
Ruth has more than 30 years of educational experience, of which 20 years she worked in public schools in Korea, and 14 years also in international schools in Tianjin, Beijing, and Xi'an China. She graduated from the Teachers' College of Kyungpook National University, obtained a teacher’s certificate G1, and won the Superintendent of Education Award. She also has experience as a representative teacher of the city. Since 2017, she has worked as a learning support teacher at PYP and MYP, supporting students' learning based on her various educational experiences. She believes that good teachers are lifelong learners and can wait while helping students think and grow independently. Her experience and competence have played a very beneficial role in the education and growth of students.
Serena Zheng
Chinese Language Teacher
Serena has been teaching Chinese to K-10 students for eight years. For more than five years, she worked at the ISA Tianhe campus. She previously taught Chinese at Top10 Bilingual School in Thailand. Serena has a Bachelor’s degree from Normal University, and she is working on her Master’s degree at People’s University. In her current role as a Chinese teacher at ISA Science City, she encourages students to reflect on how they learn through self-evaluation. She guides students to be more disciplined in their learning and collaborate with their peers in order to incorporate ATL skills and objectives when planning work units. As an educator, she incorporates spiritual growth and personal development into her teaching. Over the past eight years, she has actively participated in international workshops and shared teaching experiences with her peers. She has presented at numerous conferences, including ACAMIS Chinese Conference Global Education Forum, and the Second Innovative Chinese Teaching Conference among others.
Shahid Rahman
Science Teacher
For almost 18 years, Shahid has worked at international schools overseas. He was the head of science and an AP physics teacher at Dalian American International School before joining ISA Science City. He formerly held high school science teacher positions at Shanghai United International School, Shanghai, and Xi'an Gaoxin No. 1 High School in Xian, China, before relocating as an AP and IBDP physics teacher. Additionally, he spent 12 years as the head of science and a math and physics teacher for the IGGCE O-Level and GCE A-Level at BIS-Dammam in Saudi Arabia. Before that, he held positions at two prominent international schools in his home country as well. After finishing his 4-year Bachelor of Physics and Master of Science in Nuclear Physics degrees, he started teaching in 2005. He is an expert at helping students get excellent exam results.

Tapas Chattopadhyay

Tapas joins ISA Science City as a teacher of health and physical education. After receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in sports science from India’s premier physical education university (LNUPE), he completed his pre-doctoral (MPhil) thesis in sports-biomechanics and human movement. Additionally, he holds a high-performance coaching certificate from Cricket Australia. For eight years, Tapas also served as Head Coach and Strategic Cricket Development Planner for the national board of Saudi Arabia in addition to his 19 years of teaching Health, Physical Education & Sports. Currently he holds a UK teaching license, Hawaii Standard Board, and QTS from the UK department of education. At the all-India university level and at the junior national level, Tapas played cricket, football, and athletics. Before joining ISA, Tapas worked in a few other international schools in China. The belief and understanding of the coaching strategies Tapas has will allow the students to reach their highest potential.
Terry Dip
Individual and Societies Teacher
Terry has been an educator for over a decade. He is glad to be back in Guangzhou, where he lived when he was starting his journey as a teacher. Other Chinese cities where he has worked include Tianjin, Suzhou, and Shenzhen. In addition, he has also taught in Oman, Azerbaijan, and Russia. At ISASC, he is an Individual & Societies teacher, which was also his assignment at his immediately previous school in Shenzhen. Other than IB, he also has experience with US Common Core, IGCSE, and A-Levels. A number of his IGCSE History and Geography students received A-stars. Many of his former students are now attending renowned universities around the world. Terry believes that education is an active, two-way pursuit that relies on not only dedication from all parties involved but also a delicate balance between what is desired and what is necessary.

Mr. Kim has 30 years of teaching experience, including 13 years of teaching at IB schools. He taught MYP and DP Korean language&literature at the Canadian International School of Beijing, BISS International School of Beijing, and Xi'an Hanover International School. He taught in a public school in Korea for 20 years. He received a bachelor's degree in education from Kangwon National University and a master's degree in linguistics from Nankai University in China. And he believes that according to Bruner's theory of the structure of knowledge, the content of a subject is structured, and if presented correctly, it can be effectively taught at any stage of development of students. The future we predict is all different, and in fact, we can only predict what the future will be, but we can't know exactly. However, if teachers let students learn the structure of knowledge, he believes that they will have the ability to solve any problems.

She also obtained a Master of Arts in Chinese Studies and Postgraduate Diploma in Education(PGDE) from the Education University of Hong Kong. She has rich experience in teaching IB Chinese Language at secondary schools and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. She believes that Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think.
Tingjing Wan

Wan has a master's degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. She has six years of teaching experience. For the first two years, she taught Chinese in Malaysia and Brazil with students of various ages. Then she returned to China, teaching Chinese language and Chinese acquisition in an international school in Shenzhen for nearly four years. She is good at interdisciplinary teaching, encourages students to explore real and challenging problems through in-depth learning, and achieves core knowledge reconstruction and thinking transfer. With her excellent professionalism, she helps students improve their ability to express opinions, communicate and cooperate, think and solve problems, learn Chinese culture. Tracey Harslett

Tracey Harslett has twenty years experience in education, teaching mathematics to secondary school students in regional Australia before commencing the role at ISA Science City. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Mathematical Science from the University of Queensland, and a Graduate Certificate of International Education from the University of Melbourne. Tracey builds a culture of collaboration and kindness in her classroom, where students are supported to take risks and ask questions in a safe and supportive space. She nurtures each of her students to achieve at their potential, and encourages their appreciation of the beauty, power and relevance of mathematics for the 21st century. Tracey also brings in a business owner's perspective to her teaching, with experience co-managing a large family-owned vegetable farming operation, and developing a successful campground on the same 200-hectare property.
Vivienne Li

Vivienne serves as an EAL teacher in ISA Science City International school. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Study from Rutgers University, USA. She also holds a Master’s degree in TESOL from New York University, USA. Before coming back to China, Vivienne has been teaching bilingual language classes in the USA for 5 years with students across diverse settings, ranging from elementary school to middle school. Vivienne began her IB journey in 2019. She taught various subjects in an IB international school in New Jersey as a MYP homeroom teacher. She is passionate about inquiry-based teaching,and has completed many IB training and workshops. Vivienne believes every student is unique. Her role as a teacher is to create a safe and caring environment where students can meet their potential, take risks, and blossom in growth.

Ada serves as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City International School, where she works with Secondary students. Before joining ISA Science City, she had worked as a teaching assistant in a different international school for more than 7 years. Ada has obtained the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test Certificate, Chinese and English bilingual teaching certificates, and has always been passionate about teaching languages and cultures. Her experience includes both working in American and British schools. Because of these rich experiences, she became familiar with the education system and teaching methods in international schools. Ada enjoys working in education, and she believes that teachers can make a profound difference in students’ lives, and she has always served as a role model for students. April Chen

April works as a teaching assistant at ISA Science City. After graduating from Newcastle University, UK with the combined Bachelor Degree in Education and Japanese, she continues to attain her Master Degree in TESOL at University of Warwick. She also spent one year for Japanese language learning in Hitotsubashi University, Japan as part of her undergraduate degree. Having worked as a teaching assistant in ISA Wenhua Guangzhou Foreign Language IB Programme, she obtained a relatively comprehensive understanding of the IB pedagogy and values prioritising holistic education. She believes that having students engaging with the society and developing a multicultural appreciation is one vital goal for education. Her international education experience and multilingual capacity (fluent in Mandarin, English and Japanese) have also cultivated her multilingual awareness and intercultural communicative competence, which allows her to embrace a more inclusive language teaching pedagogical knowledge under the global context.

Sue became a member of ISASC in August 2023 as a Lab Technician. In 2020, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Engineering from Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering. After graduation, she worked as a testing engineer in a testing organization, mainly responsible for the experiment of inorganic projects. She will strive to contribute with her professional experience and passion to ISASC.
Stephen Cobb
Head of Boarding
Mr. Cobb serves as the Head of Boarding at ISA Science City International School. He brings more than 25 years of exceptional leadership and teaching experience to ISASC. He has served on the Senior Leadership Team as Head of Boarding at Dulwich College & International High School Suzhou and as the Founding Head of Boarding at Harrow International School Beijing. He also has held leadership positions as Head of Department in Economic and Business Studies at The British School Warsaw and at Harrow International School Beijing. He also has held leadership positions as Head of Department in Economic and Business Studies at The British School Warsaw and at Harrow International School Beijing. Prior to becoming an educator, Mr. Cobb worked in the business industry in Management and as an Investment Banker and Financial Analyst. He has an MBA in International Finance and Economics and a Master’s degree in Education. He has taught Economics and Business Studies at both A Level and in IB Programs. Mr. Cobb has a passion for Model United Nations (MUN), Theatre, and Soccer.

Jerry has been providing excellent boarding care to students for 10 years and plays an important role in their pastoral care. She strives to understand students’ situation in all areas of study and life at school, formulate personalized management plans, optimize student management, and promote the concept of holistic education in schools. By taking on the primary responsibility to provide boarding pupils (all ages/all years) with an exceptional level of pastoral care, she actively contributes to ensuring that the school provides a well-rounded educational experience. Jerry has taught Chemistry and General Science across the full range of international curricula for over 10 years. At ISASC, she will teach MYP General Science and DP Chemistry. With her guidance and tutelage, pupils are motivated and inspired, achieving high results as a result. Also, with the cultural differences and identity as well as the inclusivity of education, Jerry gained experience merging Chinese and International Curriculum for the best practice.

Being a houseparent in boarding department of ISA Science City International School, Cloud is responsible to take part in the student management and guidance in the dorm. received the Bachelor of Economics degree with CET-6 certificate and math teacher qualification certificate. Since graduation, she has been working in the education industry,had contact with students of all ages. The education field involved is not only subject education, but also vocational education. Be able to communicate patiently and friendly with students and their parents. She believes in ninety-nine theories is not as practical as one action.

Tina Zhang is the houseparent at ISA science City international school. Mainly responsible for students managment in dorm. She graduated from Ankang college, received the Bachelor of Arts degree with CET-4 certificate and teacher qualification certificate. After graduation, she has worked in a well-known international hotel chain, and also worked as a house parent in an international school. Accumulated valuable experience in student managment. In the future, she will strive to create a good residential atmosphere and a good residential environment for isagzsc students.
Tony Ho
Houseparent
Being a houseparent in boarding department of ISA Science City International School, Tony is responsible to take part in the student management and guidance in the dorm. After graduated from the Faculty of Science in the University of Hong Kong, he continued the postgraduate studies in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in social work. He worked in the social welfare field for years, focused in elderly, youth and children. Then he has worked in mainland China since 2017, in various field such as NGO, English training institutions, and the University. He has plenty of experience in working with people and he is looking forward to work and grow with our students.
Rovanna Bawden
Head of Student Support Services
Rovanna comes from Australia and has worked extensively in other big international schools across six countries, most recently at the International School of Macao and the Western Academy of Beijing. She has a Master of Education in Inclusive Education and a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling, and her expertise is in supporting families and students who require individual programming. At ISASC, she will develop the Student Support Team which will grow to include pastrol care, English as an Additional Language, Learning Support and Counselling services for students. She believes that ISASC will be a school where all students can be successful given the right conditions, and with individualized support, all students can reach and even exceed their full potential.
Brayan Munoz
Manager of the Academic Center
Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry with a Molecular Microbiology focus from Westminster College. Mr. Brayan Munoz has 10 years of teaching experience and 8 years of experience in school leadership, serving in multiple roles across various international and bilingual schools. Mr. Munoz served as the Executive Principal of Primary and Secondary School at the Hefei High-Tech Ivy Experimental School, and successfully led the founding of two international schools within two years. With extensive experience in school administration and student management, Mr. Munoz is known for his passion for education and his love for the students.
Cherish Danekas
Learning Inquiry Teacher
Cherish works as the Inquiry Teacher in the library at ISA Science City where she oversees the library’s teaching and learning as well as the academic collections. She has a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Oregon. Where she helped develop new courses and choose course material. She has worked as a teacher since graduating and has worked with students from Early Years up to Secondary Years. She has a strong passion for all things book and writing related and strives to impart this to everyone who visits the library whether they are staff, student, or parent.
Coco Chen
Activities Coordinator
Coco is an enthusiastic experiential educator, a facilitator of community and social-emotional learning, and a student leadership coach. She has been working in education innovation and international education since 2014, leading experiential and social-emotional learning programs in China and Southeast Asia. Among the programs offered are adventure expeditions, nature and culture explorations, leadership workshops, Global Citizenship conferences, and social innovation projects. Coco is also passionate about promoting education equality. Her work in China, Thailand, and Nepal has been focused on empowering under-resourced youths to make a change in their local communities. Coco has conducted many Social Emotional Learning & Experiential Education Workshops for international educators in addition to serving as an educational consultant and trainer.
Deric Law
Education Technology Coordinator
Deric is originally from Malaysia and holds a Master of Information Technology (MIT) degree from the Open University in the UK. For the past 15 years, he has held various positions including IT Director, ICT Coordinator, MYP Design Teacher, and IT Coach for international schools in Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and China. Originally, Deric became a teacher due to the influence of the teacher he had in primary school who provided him with structure and inspiration. Deric is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) and Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer (MIET) certified by Microsoft Education. Additionally, he is a Certified Apple Professional Learning Specialist (CPLS) through Apple Education. As an Apple Professional Learning Specialist and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, he works closely with schools to look for ways that technology can positively impact the classroom as well as the teacher and their work.
Karina Leung
Learning Support Teacher
Karina is from Hong Kong and has a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling, a Master of Arts in English Teaching and a Post-graduate Certificate in Education. She has also completed a Professional Certificate for Teachers (Catering for diverse learning needs) and has more than 15 years of experience in working with students with diverse learning needs. Prior to joining ISASC, Karina was a learning support teacher at Yew Wah International School Beijing. She aims to support students to develop the skills in learning to learn especially in the area of behavioral management, and to work in collaboration with teachers in order to cultivate a joyful and interesting learning environment.
Katrina Liu
School Counsellor
Katrina holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Science Counseling from Hong Kong Baptist University. With two years of experience in a vocational college setting, she actively engages with students, promoting their academic, career, and social-emotional development. Katrina excels in individual counseling, employing narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. She has received training from the Chinese Psychological Society, including crisis intervention, ethical practices, and certified supervision. As a teacher, she delivers key courses like "Psychological Education for College Students" and "Social Psychology," accumulating 682 teaching hours. She creates a supportive learning environment that fosters student growth. With her compassionate approach and professional expertise, Katrina is committed to supporting individuals in overcoming challenges, developing resilience, and achieving personal growth. She empowers students to navigate their academic and personal journeys successfully.
Kelly McCarron
Psychologist
Kelly is a licensed clinical psychologist from the United States. She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Columbia University (Barnard College) and a Doctor of Psychology degree from The Wright Institute, followed by a two-year neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship, with a total of 17 years of clinical practice prior to joining ISA. She has extensive experience in neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy and has published original research on social cognition, integrative health, and institutional courage. After first arriving in China, she enjoyed teaching and contributing to intercultural communication projects in the Department of English at Sun Yat-sen University. As an ISC Science City psychologist, Kelly is grateful to contribute to the communal goal of helping each student feel safe, seen, valued and successful. She also strives to promote educator, leadership, and family wellness to build a flourishing community that loves learning.
Sean Maj
Sport Coordinator
Sean is the school’s founding Sport Coordinator, bringing to the school a very strong understanding of sport in Guangzhou, the Greater Bay Area, and internationally. He graduated from McGill University of Montreal, Canada, with a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and English Literature, and played American football. He has served as an Athletic Director, teacher, coach of football, basketball, and volleyball, as well as one of the founding members of ACAMIS. Sean joins us from our partner school, ISA Tianhe. Prior to this, he was Director of Sport at another international school in Guangzhou. Sean is passionate about sport and helping students to pursue their dreams of excellence both on and off the playing field, which are key elements of the four pillars of sport at ISA Science City.
Shirley Zong
School Counsellor
Shirley has a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a Bachelor of Applied Psychology from South China Normal University. She has almost 2 years of experience in mental health centre as a psychotherapist for children and adolescents. In the hospital, she provides ethical and professional therapy and collaborates with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to prevent individuals from risk and foster their wellness. She has a great passion for working with children and adolescents with the goal of helping young people enhance their resilience and achieve their full potential. In ISASC, she will establish rapport with students, their families and teachers to be the part of the support network.
William Burnside
Learning Support Teacher
William is a member of the Student Support Team and provides learning support services in the Primary and Middle Years Programs. He has over 15 years of experience in education, including leadership experiences in the United States, Kuwait, and China. In previous posts, William served as an Assistant Director, Lead Math and Science Teacher, and Accreditation Committee Chair. William has been recognized as an educator of distinction by the Golden Apple Foundation of Illinois and the Haidian District Foreign Talent Office in Beijing, China. William earned a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from National-Louis University in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Additionally, he attained a Professional Educator License with the Illinois State Board of Education. William also holds a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School and Harvard Graduate School of Education. William is a life-long learner and continually seeks new professional development opportunities. He is a member of several international education councils and associations in areas including school leadership, curriculum development, and special education. He is preparing to begin the next step in his educational journey by undertaking advanced post-graduate studies in educational leadership.

Ana works in ISA Science City as a Library Assistant. She graduated from Zhujiang College of South China Agriculture university in 2015.During her university, she majored in the research on English culture. As she really loved Kids, she devoted herself into to English Pre-school Education after graduation from university. She had more than 5-year working experience on younger kid’s English teaching. Before she joined ISA, she worked in My GYM School and Giraffe American English as teacher assistant to be key communication bridge between school and parents, therefore she was professional in Kid’s and parent’s communication. When Ana is not at work, she enjoys doing yoga and traveling. She is joining IELTS. She enjoys challenge and hopes to offer most professional assistance for her students.

Carol works as a library assistant at ISA Science City. She has a BA degree in English, a TEM-4, a BEC vantage and TESOL (Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Carol joined ISA Science City after serving as teaching assistant at an learning institute. Prior to this, She worked as customer service supervisor for several years in a famous English education institute. Carol always try her best to offer help and support to the students. She is so grateful that she can be with the student along their learning journey. During the journey, Carol can not only make progress with the students together but also witness the growth of the students.
Tian Chu
Library Assistant
Tian comes from Wuhan, her first job was a TV journalist, then she moved to Hong Kong to pursue a master’s degree from The Education University of Hong Kong. After that, she started her career in education, she works as English teacher in kindergarten in Wuhan and Guangzhou. She has a strong ability to interact with kids and take care of them. In her free time, she likes doing zumba dance and practicing Chinese calligraphy, she has been learning it from age of 6. She also likes traveling to different countries and learning to cook exotic cuisines. Currently she is learning French because she has interest in this language. Tian believes she will make more contributions to our beautiful ISA community.

Executive Assistant to Head of School
Elena has been with ISAIEG for about 3 years since 2019. She joined ISASC as the founding Administration Manager and later worked as the Manager of President Office in ISAIEG. Prior to working in International Education industry, she had worked in Cyprus for 4 years in international investment and real estate business as a coordinator of various investment projects in Cyprus, America, France, Singapore and South Africa, where she had got bunch of experience working with people from different cultures. She loves to be a bridge builder, to be briges and to do bridge work. She always believes that understanding and communication is the key to happy work and happy life.
Vanora Wen
Personal Assistant to Early Years Principal
Vanora Wen is a founding member of ISA International Science City. As the Early Years Principal’s Personal Assistant, she offers professional services and supports the Early Years education team, where she is the first point of contact for the ISA Early Years Programme. Vanora graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Korean. In addition to speaking fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, she is also a Guangzhou local. Prior to joining ISA, Vanora was a project manager in the international tourism industry, handling tailored travel services and MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, and Event) services with high standards. She has extensive experience in customer service with strong communication and collaboration skills, being flexible in problem solving. She is a lover of travel and a great organizer. Traveling to more than ten countries, Vanora has developed a global and open-minded personality.
Connie Liang
Personal Assistant to Primary Principal
Connie is the primary school principal’s assistant at ISA Science City International School. Her role is to act as the first point of contact between the principal, staff, and parents. Connie has worked as an executive assistant to the CEO of a Hong Kong trading company and as a shopping concierge at Changi Airport in Singapore. The experience she gained in a trading company has made her more qualified to be a school administrator. Her passion for education and her expertise in the sector led her to join ISA Science City. In her spare time, Connie enjoys Thai boxing. Her belief is that a healthy body ensures the ability to overcome any challenge. She lives by the motto “Do or don’t. There is no try.”
Gloria Sun
Personal Assistant to Secondary Principal
Gloria comes from Fujian, a neighboring province of Guangdong which enjoys fascinating coastal sceneries. She has studied and worked in Shanghai for the last 10 years and she holds a Masters degree in Marketing from the University of Leicester in UK. Before joining ISASC, Gloria served in the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Greater China office. Her role was Personal Assistant to the Vice President of Business Development. She was also Assistant Manager in charge of BD administration and B2B marketing. Prior to that, she was the Project Coordinator in PICO for the Shanghai Disney theme park project. Gloria is currently the Personal Assistant to the Secondary Principal at ISASC. She provides not only administrative support to the Principal on a daily basis, but also provides services and engagement for all stakeholders, including teachers, students and parents. With her hospitality background, Gloria brings the service spirit and high professional ethics into the workplace at ISASC and contributes to delivering the school’s vision to be the acknowledged leader of excellence in international education.

Personal Assistant to Secondary Principal
Sharon joins ISA Science City in the position of Personal Assistant to Secondary Principal. Before Joining ISA Science City she was the Executive Assistant to Vice President at an international joint venture University in Suzhou, China. Also, she was a LP at Disney English. Sharon earned a bachelor in Tourism Management from Zhuhai College of Jilin University. As a lifelong learner, Sharon continued to pursue the qualification of Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Children. Sharon is a passionate, focused person, and she loves caring for others. She was actively engaged in lots of volunteering programmes and served as a member of Disney VoluntEARS Leadership at The Walt Disney Co.,Ltd.. Sharon speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English fluently. Belinda Ding
HR Supervisor
Belinda has been working as an HR Supervisor in an international school for the past two years. She was mainly involved with expatriate teachers’ visas, work permits, and other onboarding processes, to ensure compliance with the law and meet school academic needs. Belinda graduated from Guangdong University of Finance with a major in Business English. She is committed to providing Human Resource assistance to ISASC’s Chinese and expatriate employees.
Carson Li
IT Technician
Carson joins ISA Science City as an IT Helpdesk. He used to work for Kering as a senior IT helpdesk. He has great understanding of users's requirement and deal with software and hardware issue. As an IT helpdesk, he is responsible for recording the situations when users report issue or raise request, and he will try to solve them, if not, he has to escalate the situation to support team and coordinates the interactions between support team and users.
Cathy Chen
Accounting Assistant
Cathy joins ISA Science City in February 2023 as an Accounting Assistant. In 2019, Cathy graduated from Guangzhou University Sontan College, majoring in accounting. Cathy has worked as a Hong Kong tax intern in KPMG Global Business Services (Guangdong) Company Limited, and has also worked in accounting in state-owned enterprises. She believes that no accumulation of steps, can't lead to thousand miles.
Chloe Wang
Marketing Officer
In the past few years, Chloe Wang has been engaged in school-related work. For two years, she worked in the university, mainly responsible for some international exchange programs and the operation of online social media. At the same time, when she was a graduate student, she interned in the alumni office of an American school, mainly responsible for the planning of online and offline activities and the operation of overseas social media. during that time, she learned how to communicate with people with different cultural backgrounds. Claire Chen joins ISA Science City in July 2022 as a HR Specialist. Before joining ISA Science City she has been working in the education field for almost 5 years and is very passionate about it. Claire has been working in HR administration since graduating in 2017, and she is familiar with the process of work permit application and work visa application for foreign employees, as well as the recruitment and allocation, salary calculation and benefits, and other administrative affairs for both Chinese and foreign employees.

Emily is an enrollment consultant at ISA Science City. Emily has worked in the education field for more than nine years. She is passionate about education and believes education leads to lifelong learning. Emily was a center manager at Helen O’ Grady Drama Academy before joining ISASC she played a key role in the course planning and service supervision of the admission team. Using her sustaining efforts, she succeeded in establishing a standard operating procedure on admission consulting for the school. Her team’s professionalism, competent communication skills, and excellent service attitude were highly rated by the parents and students she served. To provide the best service possible for ISASC, Emily will spare no effort to contribute her education knowledge and experiences.
Hannah Huang
Marketing Supervisor
Hannah is currently the Marketing Supervisor at ISA Science City International School. In 2018, Hannah graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies with two degrees, in International Business (Bachelor of Management Degree) and Business English (Bachelor of Arts Degree). During college life, she passed the Test for English Majors-Band 8 (Tem-8) and got computer grade II certificate, and she is also an active member of AIESEC, a non-governmental not-for-profit organisation in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, leading an educational project for over 150 migrant children in Guangzhou. In 2016, she participated in the 121st Session of Canton Fair as a volunteer of International Purchasing Department to assist the event. Hannah's first job was in ISA Tianhe International School as a marketing assistant at the beginning (2018). She will continue to use her knowledge in marketing and passion for the educational business to work in the future.

Jenny Wei
Senior Procurement Officer
Jenny joined ISA Science City in June 2020 as a Procurement Officer. Her main role is to make sure that all school purchases align with our high standards. She handles everything from contracts to inventory management, logistics to quality control and making sure the school gets what it needs. Her coordination skills with multiple suppliers and projects are outstanding. Jennifer graduated from the Guangzhou Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree and has worked in procurement for more than four years. Previously, she worked for the Evergrande Group, where she gained extensive purchasing experience in the real estate, auto parts, and hardware industries. Her time at Evergrande Group provided her with valuable insights into supplier management and purchasing processes.
Joshua Zeng
Designer
Joshua joined the founding team of ISA Science City International School as the design coordinator. Previously, Joshua worked in the education industry for more than 2 years because of his interest in education. A significant achievement is that he designed a whole VI and UI system for a training and teaching software from the beginning, helping students learn and develop their skills. Throughout his work, he strives to create an engaging and creative brand presentation. Since he joined ISA Science City, he has learned much more about design. As part of his role, he is also responsible for gaining a deeper understanding of the school brand and culture, as well as the students and parents. This helps to better present ISA Science City. He will continue to emphasize design and manage it effectively to assist the school community in creating an excellent brand for the school.

Lancer serves as an Enrolment Consultant at ISA Science City. He has been engaged in the international education industry for more than 7 years. Before joining ISA, he was a senior consultant in a leading international education consulting company. He is very familiar with the admission policies of foreign schools and universities and has rich experience in helping students make admission plans and improve their background. He has guided hundreds of students to get admissions to the top universities, including Columbia University, Imperial College, National University of Singapore, University of Toronto, The University of Melbourne etc. Lancer believes that excellent educators not only impart knowledge, but also enlighten wisdom and nourish life. Melody Tang
Senior Procurement Officer
Melody joined ISASC in November 2020 as a procurement officer. In this position, she is responsible for understanding the procurement requirements by communicating and coordinating with various departments and conducting daily purchases and paperwork so as to monitor the product quality in accordance with the school’s procurement standards. Additionally, she spends time researching new purchasing channels and suppliers so that ISASC always has ample supplies. She has taken on a wide range of professional responsibilities in order to ensure the community is provided with everything it needs to be an outstanding school. Prior to joining us, Melody was a purchase specialist for a Japanese company. With eight years of experience in this role, she was responsible for all purchases, including capital expenditures, and managing all procurement processes in terms of compliance and risk assessment, making sure all procurements were highly cost-effective.

Molly Huang works as an Marketing Officer at ISASC. She graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies with a double Bachelor's degree in Management and Literature. She went on to study at the City University of Hong Kong and obtained a Master's degree in E-Commerce in 2019. Molly Huang has been working in marketing since graduation and has three years of experience in the education industry. She specialises in copywriting, photo shoots and video production. A graduate of Liverpool University in the U.K., she has a master’s degree in management. Operations Assistant & Driver
Oscar is the school driver at ISA Science City. He is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for the staff. Also, he is responsible for planning transportation routes for the Head of School, HR, Finance, Marketing and Admissions, Operations, and any other department that needs ferrying services. Maintaining the company vehicle is his pride and joy, as he is meticulous about its cleanliness, maintenance, and servicing records. Having worked as a driver for executives for thirteen years, he has a record of zero accidents. He previously worked for a publicly listed company as a personal driver for a senior director. Also, he drove for luxury tour groups in New Zealand. Oscar holds both a Chinese and an international driving license. He is familiar with the technical specifications of a variety of brands and models of automobiles. He is also a sports enthusiast, participating in various sport competitions, such as basketball, football, and dragon boating when he has free time.

Paris Peng
Senior Operations Officer
Paris joined ISA Science City as a Senior Operations Officer in April 2021. Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2011, she has been working in education for more than 10 years. She worked as a Senior Admission Consultant and Registrar in an international school before joining ISASC. She is passionate about international education. Her experience and passion will help her better serve students and teachers at ISASC.
Rainbow Cai
Administrative Manager
Rainbow is the Deputy Administrative Manager at ISASC. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a master's degree in Language Teaching, and holds a high school English teacher qualification certificate. Previously, Rainbow worked as an ESL course R&D manager and language training teacher at an international test center (IELTS/TOEFL/GRE/GMAT) in Shenzhen. Therefore, she has extensive experience in language tests and applications for studying abroad. Later on, she worked as a project manager at the Bureau of Commerce of Nansha District, Guangzhou, and was responsible for the introduction of international schools to Nansha District, where she developed her interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate with various departments. Before joining ISASC, Rainbow served as deputy director of education sector at a well-known real estate company, and was responsible for cooperation with famous public schools. She kept a good relationship with education departments of Guangzhou and various districts, as well as many public schools.

Rainbow has been part of the ISA Science City team since December 2020. In addition to managing all shop operations, she also provides professional customer service to the community. For six years, Rainbow worked as an assistant at an international school in Guangzhou, where she worked closely with the senior leadership team. Among her responsibilities, she coordinated school bus services, operated the uniform shop, and provided administrative support to the music department. IT Technician
Ricky joins ISA Science City as an IT Technician. He graduated from Whitireia New Zealand with a Bachelor of Information Technology. Before joining ISA Science City he has been working in development and operation of government business systems project for three years. He has an good understanding of user’s requirement and capable to solve most hardware and software problem. As an IT Technician he is responsible to provide high quality IT support,which includes school activity support, end-user device support,mobile device maintenance and IT asset management.
Tracy Li
Relocation Specialist
Tracy Li is the Relocation Specialist at ISA Science City International School. She joined us recently after spending seven years as an Executive Assistant to VP of Anta China Corporation in Fujian Province. Tracy brings her experience into the very important work of finding outstanding accommodation for our foreign staff. This is a job that requires tough negotiation skills and the ability to understand cross-cultural matters. Tracy has a bachelor’s degree in Business English from the Wuhan University of Technology Huaxia College. She is a regular volunteer in the animal welfare organization in Fujian.
William Jiang
Administrative Assistant
William Jiang joins ISA Science City in September 2022 as an administrative assistant. As a Canton local, he’s speaking fluent Cantonese, and also, he likes the Cantonese local culture very much. He’s opened a career as a F&B staff worked in the Westin hotel F&B of Starwood Holding Corporation, and he was provided the best F&B service to every single customer from worldwide. he has been as a head mixologist and outlet assistant manager worked including for the Michelin restaurant and Which local luxury hotel has more than 40 years of history during the period of F&B industry for over 9 years. William has been as an administrative specialist serves for SPIC ( State Power Investment Corporation ). He believes that to providing the best of service and experience base on his over 10 years work experience.
Winnie He
Deputy HR Manager
Winnie serves as our assistant HR manager at ISA Science City. She has nine years of experience in the human resources field. She worked for a real estate company in Guangzhou providing professional relocation services for expats of multinational companies before joining ISA. Due to her experience, she is skilled at recruiting and training diverse talents who specialize in providing accurate and considerate service to clients with high expectations. Additionally, she has experience working in an overseas education agency, which helped many students to get acceptance offers from universities overseas. With a passion for education, she is committed to sharing her knowledge with ISASC.
Winnie Wang
Senior Administrative Officer
Winnie Wang is an Operations Officer at ISASC. She graduated from Guangdong University of Finance and Economics and has worked in the hospitality industry for years, making her a patient, optimistic, and guest-focused individual. In addition to being a good problem solver, she is proactive in her projects and can actively accomplish her tasks in a timely manner. It was Winnie’s belief that with her experience as a working member of an operations team, she will have a smooth transition into the education industry.
